    OMG Cabo - Elaine Marie

    Chapter One

I STAND on the curb outside the arrival station at the Los Cabos International Airport, which isn’t far from the resort. I’m waiting on the party’s arrival. I glance at my cell and sigh. According to Alonzo, the flight should have arrived twenty minutes ago.

I bounce on the heels of my feet, trying to see over the crowd exiting the airport doors. My hands clench my mobile, trying to control my nerves. This is a happy occasion, and the last thing I want is my secret relationship coming out now. I mean, I share everything with my brother, but this is not the time to expose my love life. It’s time to focus on Jillian and her wedding.

Jillian and I have been in contact daily since we met in Venice. We clicked and became instant friends.

Roni’s nice, too, but she’s a bit too adventurous for me. I mean, when I found out she races motorcycles, it scared me shitless. Although, I admit I admire her courageousness. The closest I’ve ever gotten to doing something adventurous is when I packed up and left my asshole of a husband and moved to Cabo.

I arrived with just the clothes on my back and a small suitcase. In my pocket were minimal funds. I had no friends or enemies to bother with me. It was a new beginning.

I had been here for a week or so when, luck would have it, I literally bumped into the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort manager when I was out for a jog one morning.

I always slowed to admire the resort and its setting, and that morning was no different. As I admired the scenery, something knocked me on my ass. I looked up and saw a tall, tanned gentleman wearing earbuds.

He apologized and introduced himself as he helped me up. When I realized who he was, I inquired about employment. I had nothing to lose at that point. I needed work, and he presented an opportunity. Luckily, he hired me for a housekeeping position on the spot.

Three years later, here I am in charge of the front desk, and I recently applied for a huge promotion. If I get the General Manager position, I would not only be in charge of the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort, but I would have hands in overseeing the three sister resorts as well. I’d work side by side with, the one and only, Mr. Laurato Sanchez...which could be a huge problem. But I’d work out the details if I land the position.

Gianna! My name echoes throughout the crowd. I stand on my tippy toes and look around. My eyes land on a group, and I realize everyone is finally here.

I raise my arm and wave in their direction. Being short does not help
