- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a darling book. What makes it so great is the concept that not everyone is perfect and not everyone or everything has to happen at the time that is most convenient to you. A book that is meaningful and has a big heart.

My most fabulous year started with a bang, literally. I was working in the local Wal-Mart as a cashier, as usual. Dead tired and dreadfully sleepy my idiotic, boss, Mr. Lee suddenly decided to have a friendly
chat with me.
Rubina Avetisian, your work ethic is very poor. You make mistakes constantly because you simply can’t count! You have a calculator but you can’t put 2+2 together to equal 4. For you they equal 10! This is impossible. Furthermore Rubina, due to the falling economy of our great nation I have to fire you. Rubina, you’re fired!
Mr. Lee my crazy, asshole boss concluded.
That was it, the bang that started the year for me. True, it was already February the 21st but until then I was sleeping. At least this woke me up. Fired from my only, real, job I had no money whatsoever.
So, I started my frantic job search with no success, yet. On top of all this it was already September and my life was getting worse by the hour.
Dad please hurry up I really need to use the bathroom!
This was me, Rubina, yelling from our tiny corridor of our tiny 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom apartment in Hollywood, California.
Why don’t you go down the street and use a public toilette Rubina!
My dad Mr. Avetisian hollered back clearly shitting
