Let's Learn to Draw
Drawing is easy and super fun. Just like everything else, you need to practice if you want to get good at it. If you're beginning to learn drawing you should start with something simple to gain confidence. Don't jump at something complicated and get frustrated. You need to take baby steps to develop your skills. It all begins with practicing simple things to train your hand. By using the proper technique you will be able to draw those long straight lines and big round curves in no time. Let me teach you how to do it.
Try drawing the following shapes. Draw a very small version of them first
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\a.jpgNow try drawing the same shapes again. Make them bigger this time. Unless your hand is trained your shapes might turn out somewhat like this…
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\b.jpgWhat we learn from this is that it is easy to draw smaller shapes perfectly even with an untrained hand. How can this help us to draw bigger shapes? It's simple! We will simply break them down into small lines. Now let's try again using this technique.
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\c.jpgYou can make the lines shorter for drawing bigger curves.
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\d.jpgNow we will try using the same method to draw this butterfly.
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\1a.jpgE:\ART\HTD\Intro\1b.jpgRemember to draw the dotted lines with a light hand. Don't press the pencil too hard. Now connect the dots to complete the shapes while keeping the pencil light handed.
E:\ART\HTD\Intro\1c.jpgE:\ART\HTD\Intro\1d.jpgOnce you're convinced that you have achieved the shape that you wanted to draw, you can darken the outlines to finalize the drawing.
Your drawing doesn't have to be exact. You can be creative with it by adding your own style. It will always look more natural that way.
You can use this method to draw anything you want. It will help you to train your hand for drawing complex figures.
Now use this technique to draw the following characters using these simple steps.
