You are everywhere:
Like a stain,
A beautiful stain of peonies and sunshine
Lingering in everything and one you touched
You are everywhere.
He says you still inspire him, you made him feel like he could do anything and be the best, he feels so lost without you, but he thinks of what you would do or say because you were the best part of him. He misses you love, oh, how he misses you. Your Kurth and Gio will always love you. Don’t worry though, we will take care of them, love them and support them. Kiss Chloe for us.
Thank You
God
I get that you love me, but all this favor, all these blessings…how can I ever be worthy?
Darnell, Luca and Lyanna
You are my heart. My Reason.
My parents
Dennis and Evette
Thank you for believing I was something special from day one,
That belief has fueled my every step.
Natz
Losing you has left me with a need to fill this void with greatness, as much as knowing you inspired me in so many ways.
INTRODUCTION
As the title suggests I wrote most of these poems when I was young and inexperienced, with a pretty narrow view of the world. While compiling much of the older pieces with my more recent ones I was tempted to edit all of the things that showed my youth or ignorance but decided against it. Without looking back there is no true measure of growth. In so many ways I was mature for my age and able to express myself beyond what my years or limited experience should have allowed, but if I am to embrace and celebrate that, I also have to embrace the innocence that also was me. I struggled with how open I wanted to be…knowing my words would be open to interpretation and often misunderstood…knowing that readers would assume which works were my personal experience and disregard the art, the imagination, the empathy that drove me to write even things I knew nothing about in so many of the pieces. Since I can’t let fear dictate my life or life story, here you have it; the world through the eyes of a Middle Aged 18-Year-Old. So, as you embark on the journey to meet the girl and grow with her; enjoy the time travel, allow yourself to see things as she did, from her unique perspective.
Note to reader
Sometimes we get so lost searching for the light that we forget our light is guiding others…don’t stray from the path or get distracted by what is going on around you…be the beautiful change, be the beacon of hope…and no matter what…NEVER forget…you are important,
