    Introduction

Congratulations on downloading Taxes for Small Business.

Thank you for your interest in this book and I hope it provides you with all the necessary information that is needed to help you get the most out of your small business taxes. Taxes are a necessary evil and when owning your own business, even a small one, you are going to find it a headache to file and calculate the tax liability that you have. With all the new reform laws that Trump placed into the law books this year, there is so much confusion on what you can and cannot file as a deduction. This book is just the thing you need to find all those deductions and get the most write-offs for your tax liability this year.

In this book, I go over everything you will need to know for filing your taxes and keeping your head out of the water. I have included every single piece of information that can provide you with a clear-cut path to filing your taxes on your own or hiring a professional to do it for you. Often it is said that taxes are complicated, however, if you learn how to file your taxes yourself you can be sure to have a better grasp of it and also save you the cost of a tax professional every quarter or year. Although filing your taxes alone would help you save money in the long run as well, sometimes it helps to have a tax professional to help you along the way. Many tax professionals can be a great asset to your company and your sanity, but you will need to provide them with the proper paperwork so they can get you the deductions that you deserve.

*Remember, without your organizational skills being used to collect the necessary paperwork, the tax accountant can only help you with the filing. They cannot fabricate deductions so if you find one that says they will make it up, do not work with them. Staying out of the IRS’s radar is the best option and filing bogus deductions without documentation can land you into some pretty hot water. So, use your receipts and a system such as QuickBooks to track all your incoming and outgoing expenses and you should be safe.

There are plenty of books on this subject on the market, thanks again for choosing this one! Every effort was made to ensure it is full of as much useful information as possible, please enjoy!

Chapter 1: What Small Businesses Need to Know About Taxes in 2018

Every year from the beginning of February to April 15th everyone in the US clambers to get their taxes ready by the April 15th deadline. They are hoping that they do not have a huge bill at the end of the paperwork. Most people are filing personal taxes; however, some are filing for larger corporations. But a sizable percentage of the US is filing small business taxes. These are the people that are freelancers, small business owners, independent contractors, insurance salesmen, real estate agents, and such.

As a small business, filing taxes is a necessity, since staying within the tax laws can make a significant difference between continuing to do business and facing tax evasion laws. Taxes have a way of driving you mad with all the new laws every year and the difficulty that most people have with understanding how to file. It’s no wonder that there are several tax professionals who charge thousands of dollars to help small and large business file their taxes each year.

Taxes are big business in the US. A tax accountant can charge anywhere from $100 for filing up to $150 per hour to keep your records and file your quarterlies. This means that they are pulling in large amounts of money to help you file your taxes and save you money while doing so, but are you really saving money if you have to pay someone hundreds of dollars to file the proper forms? I think not. That is why I have written this book. This book is designed to help you file your taxes for your small business without the headaches that go with it and the big accountant fees. Yes, I do talk about hiring an accountant in chapter 6, but that is for those that find it is easier for them to hire someone that knows what they are doing.

    Since taxes are a
