About this ebook

Are you a happy person? If so, I have nothing to tell you any further. Thank you and heaven bless you!

I too thought I was a happy person. I was happy about my possessions. I found my happiness in being proud about my intelligence and achievements. I found my happiness in my so called human and humane qualities. I found my happiness in playing the worldly games particularly when I won those games by hook or crook. Soon enough, I found something was missing from those bouts of happiness. Then I realized. I was not really happy, except for few tiny moments and it had nothing to do with the circus I was doing in the name of playing those wild games. I was deluding myself in the name of happiness.

Being a down to earth normal human being, I had built up a lot of pride about so many things I owned, and I thought I was happy. Then came the watershed moment and it resulted in experiencing happiness in a different way beyond all pride and prejudices. For want of expression, I am labeling it as true happiness as words do not serve the purpose of explaining it.

In the first chapter of this book, I am handing over a challenge to you. As you can expect, the challenge is not about fighting all that is bad and evil. If you are a true fighter, you will take up the challenge and grab the chance of becoming a winner.

I never thought simple ideas appearing in my mind as thoughts can be so complex, until I wrote them down and read them back!

That was my reaction when I read the completed book. There is a good amount of verifiable truth in that statement. To begin with, I wrote the content I am sharing in the book for my personal use; rather it was for venting my feelings when in distress. But, what has materialized as a book, has introduced an interesting spin on those feelings.

What all I have written here is about my firsthand experiences of going through the travails of life and coming out as a winner where winning did not matter and expectedly, ended up getting nothing. I am not attaching any pride to this victory. All along the way, events associated with those travails kept on promising me that losing is the right way to extract material benefits, and there is a lot to gain positively or negatively when such losses happen.

This book is not meant for the consumption everyone. It is meant for those few, whose lifelong search for happiness is about to materialize. For some others, it may become a starting point of a lifelong effort in search of elusive happiness. Someone else might find it entertaining in the sense of being helpful in spending their spare time and for the remaining people is an object deserves to be thrown away without giving a second thought. Choosing only one of those four exclusive choices is all that is possible.

Before you move forward, I need to throw some light on an important topic. Earlier, I had asked you questions about the fighter qualities in you. Just asking those questions about the fighter living within you is not enough. I need to respect that fighter by giving an opportunity to fight. By taking up my challenge mentioned earlier, the fighter will meet a powerful hidden enemy. You cannot formulate a pre-defined winning strategy to fight that enemy. The fighter living inside you will feel ill equipped. Once you get to know the enemy, your life will change. You will lead yourself to decide whether you will fight on or surrender. This book intends to give you the right inputs for making the choice.

I wish you good luck with your big fight!

Kay Yes

Kay Yes considers himself as a Universal citizen without a necessity of attaching a specific nationality. Through the process of living in this world, he got attracted to write down whatever he experienced. Initially, most of his writings were in vernacular language, later on it was written in English. His writings are more about experiential learning. He never got attached to a religion or philosophy with respect to writing as he could not validate majority of the teachings in those areas through the process of living. His observation of life and hypocrisy therein  lead him to write more and more about the experiences interpreting them in his own way. His thinking roughly corresponds to a simple philosophy stated as Life flows out of a theme. A lot of bubbles spring up, spicing up the flow. It is amazing to watch and understand how these empty bubbles create dazzling effects of resistance and yet facilitate the flow in their own way. Our job is to observe those bubbles and derive experience in the form of pain and pleasure.

    Foreword

Are you not a proud person? If you say no, I have nothing to tell you further. Let heavens bless you and thank you!

Wait a minute. Pride is much sneakier than happiness itself. Let us have an honest check. Here we go.

Are you not proud about your possessions? Are you not proud about your achievements? Are you not proud about your good human qualities? Are you not proud about being a fighter? Don’t you want to fight and annihilate all the evil present in this world? Don’t you want to pick up challenges and win?

    I rest my case.

What I experienced as happiness in the company of pride and accompanying emotions was a pale distorted shadow of what true happiness really is. That is why, my happiness had ups and downs, and I was deluding myself. In reality, I was not happy. My pride was successful in not allowing me to openly admit this fact.

I do not intend to make it look like a story of overcoming emotions like pride and shame. I have developed a sincere desire to narrate the story of embracing true happiness through the medium of words. I had to face several challenges and overcome them. It finally turns out as a story of overcoming those challenges to describe the nature of true happiness.

In the first chapter of this book, I am handing over a challenge to you. As you can expect, the challenge is not about fighting all that is bad and evil. If you are a true fighter, you will take up the challenge and grab the chance of becoming a winner.

The challenge posed to you comes from my special experiences in the process of my becoming happy. Those experiences led me into writing everything. Without intending, to my surprise, I completed writing this book.

A little more effort in the form of creating few slides, using some attractive pictures and well worded videos will transform the content presented here into a multi-day experiential learning course.  Somehow, I feel, I am not cut out for creating that kind of material at this stage.

In the beginning, when I wrote, I felt thoughts are given to me for writing them as they were given. I wrote them with absolute sincerity. Like everything else in my life, I was wrong.  Then, new thoughts pushed me to understand the intent behind producing the written thought was onward transmission. I created the book. Then the revelation came.

This revelation also may turn out wrong. If it happens, so be it. If it does go wrong, then it will be wrong for only one reason. I am not cut out for hype filled marketing. Of course from the point of view of conventional world, it might look like committing a sin. There is no punishment prescribed for perpetrating these kinds of sins in my current world. In fact, committing sins without getting punished is one of the greatest ways of becoming happy for a short while. You have adequate amount of proof right in front of you. Look around. You can find enough and more role models occupying powerful leadership positions in all spheres of life.

    Chapter 1

    Journey into intrigue

I have a sincere and honest desire. It is to have a no holds barred, heart to heart dialogue with you. It is unfortunate. We have struck ourselves in a constrained situation where we can have and get satisfied by having only a monologue. It should not matter much except for some extra effort on my part.  I will put in the required effort to make it a direct information flow for you. I might refer others in the process, but they are not important for this monologue.

What we have set out to do might look like a simple task. It is not. It might look like an easy task. In reality, it is not. Your process of living has taught you not to believe anything without accompanying proof.  It includes my statements. I will provide you a part of the proof right now. However, it appears in front of you in the form of a challenge.

Here is your challenge in one clear and concise sentence.

Read this book starting from the first page with an open mind and with full attention until you reach the last page.

I know. It feels like an easiest challenge. Mark my words. It is simple, but not easy.

Before proceeding further, I am handing over a conundrum associated with the challenge. It comes in the form of a straightforward instruction. Later on, please do not complain about it. It is my duty to tell you the truth as I see it, before you start.

The conundrum is about the applicability of the material presented here to your life situation in the present. You have an important choice to make and I expect you to make a wise choice.

This book is not meant for the consumption everyone. It is meant for those few, whose lifelong search for happiness is about to materialize. For some others, it may become a starting point of a lifelong effort in search of elusive happiness. Someone else might find it entertaining in the sense of being helpful in spending their spare time, and for the remaining people is an object deserves to be thrown away without giving a second thought. Choosing only one of those four exclusive choices is all that is possible.  The natural tendency sometimes is to comment for the sake of commenting just to let out the frustration. All of that is okay. Occasionally, you can use your discretion for a useful cause.

Hope you have made your thoughtful decision. Let us begin the monologue in high spirits.

In almost five decades of searching for the secrets behind becoming happy, I have found there are no secrets in this world. The world is wide open and hides nothing from me, you or anyone else. The world has no necessity to do that. You, I and others around us have handled the event called as life with a limited amount of reusable memory coupled with a slippery memory control mechanism called time, which makes all of us forgetful. Added to that, our own selfishness forces us to fill the memory beyond its capacity resulting in overwriting the existing information. Overwriting the memory this way makes you forget the existing information. Because of that, things become invisible. That is what I call as life hides. In effect, it feels like life hides more than it shows by putting more issues on your plate than you can handle. All those hidden things are always accessible to you. You can bring them back into your visibility, moment you desire to access them. That is why I prefer to call them as open secrets. Life is not all madness on display. There is a method to the madness. The open secrets help you in the process of uncovering the remaining secrets, which leads you to overcome the madness. As you uncover the method in the madness, you march towards realizing your destiny. It is important to understand a fact without ambiguity. Your destiny is in becoming happy!

I am stating one of the open secrets upfront. Proper understanding of this secret made my journey towards happiness easier, if not simpler.  I have recorded the open secret in one short paragraph in a later chapter. Somewhere in the flow of words, as we move along, you will come across the text containing something similar to the following paragraph.

There is nothing religious or political about becoming happy. There is neither a concrete science. If at all there is anything, it is something mechanical. If it is not convincing enough for you, let me say there is something chemical, which science is yet to understand. There is something chemical, because, ultimately it is the chemical reaction happening inside your body releasing the energy which gets interpreted as your current reality. Incidentally, that something creating and controlling the chemical reaction is the magical thing called YOU!

Please read the above paragraph as many times as needed until the meaning of life hiding in those words dawns upon you. Once you understand the essence of those lines, you will know there was something more in between those lines and words! It holds the concise explanation about how the life is created every moment and records the basis for explaining the event-based model described later in this book.

A particular series of events have left me as a happy person and prompted me to write the details about how it manifested. The result of writing is in your hands. There is no need to judge it, for, judging it may not add any worthwhile value to your life, except for wasting your valuable time in forming the opinion and forgetting something which you consider as  valuable. Do not mistake my statements about opinions. I acknowledge the fact. You need a few opinions for day-to-day living and all
