The Children of Forest Guard - Altel Chagla
Chapter 1
Spending time in the forest is surely an amusing idea. Until you get lost.
IT WAS A RESTLESS MIDNIGHT in a mountain forest.
Help!
a hoarse voice said.
That voice belonged to that lucky person. His name was Boris, according to the name tag on his backpack. The wind attacked from the diverse sides, as a crazy horse without mercy. Boris hugged the backpack tightly. He coughed several times. It sounded as if his throat was about to be torn apart. His lungs were burning, even though there was a deadly cold. The sky was cloudy. The only light source was the thunder flashes, which was still another danger. He was lost since the early morning. Boris's legs were shuddering because of the fatigue.
Searching for a sign of civilization, Boris tripped over a tree root, and fell from the hill. He didn't have energy even to scream. So, it was a silent struggle. Boris hit on a rock with his head. He closed his eyes, and remained silent. Boris didn't faint, or fell asleep. He just laid here.
The wind cutted down after a while. Boris stood up holding onto the tree branches. He went on while making zigzags, till he spotted a shiny dot. The young guy focused on it while making an effort to keep balance. It was the light of a village house, which motivated the guy to stride. He slowed down halfway. His hands dropped beside him, and he fell down on the face.
THE SUN ROSE UP A LONG time ago. Boris was still lying stock-still. To his happiness, he fell down on the edge of a path. Local teen boy noticed the guy while riding by. Despite the contrast of masses, the teen managed the huge, and muscular horse masterly. He got off the horse, took several steps toward the stranger lying on the ground. Midway, he stopped, and took two steps back. After a short examination, the teen approached to the guy. The horse followed his guardian. It had a glossy orangish-brown fur which was the sign of a good care, and spacious diet. The teen tapped on Boris's shoulder with the tips of his fingers.
Excuse me...
The guy lifted up his head to the voice without opening eyes.
Are you okay?
The sunlight dazzled Boris’s eyes. Wow, what a big dog you have!
he said.
It’s a horse...
The horse neighed. The teen boy stared at the dry blood on the back of the guy’s head. It will not be superfluous for you to see a doctor.
What?
The guy sat down. He touched the wound on his head. Ouch!
the guy said, while pressing his eyelids tightly. The teen helped him to stand up.
You are right.
The guy led to the house he discovered the last night.
Where are you going?
To find... a doctor?
The teen boy petted his horse’s head. Then he brought him closer to the guy.
I suppose, it will be better if Albek, and I will accompany you.
DON'T WORRY, SON,
the Doctor said, finished binding the patient’s head. It’s not a serious injury.
He sat down at his table. You just need a rest.
Thank you, doctor.
The guy checked his photo camera. Lucky me! It's not broken.
You, my friend, indeed have luck.
RIGHT... WHAT A PITY. I was not able to thank the boy.
Don't worry, you'll have time for it. His name is Timur.
The Doctor stood up, I talked with my wife...
and spread his arms, ...you’ll be our guest.
I don’t want to be a trouble for you.
Common! We will be happy to help.
The guy stood up. I have heard about your people’s hospitality.
He shook hands with the Doctor. Thank you a bunch!
