About this ebook
Golden Scroll Novel of the Year (2011)
Zhen-Li’s parents, under pressure from the government, pay to have Zhen-Li kidnapped and the baby aborted. It is then Zhen-Li decides she must live up to her name—“Truth”—and take a firm stand for her faith, regardless of the consequences, and so she begins to regularly teach children about Zhu Yesu (“Lord Jesus”) and to distribute Christian literature every chance she gets.
Based loosely on the life of Christian magazine editor Li Ying, currently serving a ten-year prison sentence in China, the story of Yang Zhen-Li tells the desperate tale of her incarceration and separation from her family, as she continues to minister to other prisoners, and even to her guards.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Having read No Greater Love and More Than Conquerors , the first two books in this amazing series, I knew I absolutely HAD to read this one, too. Kathi's writing is breathtakingly phenomenal and words can never be enough to describe her talent and the effects that it has on my heart. She wraps up EVERY emotion known to mankind in one riveting, fantabulous read.In Red Ink, Kathi captures the heartache and struggle that Zhen-Li deals with. You see, Zhen-Li is a Christian Magazine journalist from China. And she's a Christian. So what's the big deal? She loves her Lord, has a strong faith, and is Chinese. Well, the problem is China feels that being a Christian is illegal and breaking the China rules. Zhen-Li doesn't care about the rules, she just cares about sharing the amazing Lord and her faith with others around her, no matter what the out come is, even if that outcome is being taken by her parents and being forced to terminate her pregnancy. All of this because she is a stand-strong-in-her-faith Christian. It is saddening because this fictional story is taken from a true story. There is a young woman in China who is actually, as I am sitting here typing this review, being held a prisoner for 10 years because of her stand strong faith. Something like this is absolutely horrific and I am appalled that ANYONE in this world could even begin to THINK that that is ok. It makes me question what this world is really coming down to.Mixed in this story is a former missionary in a nursing home. She is feeling the call of the Lord to prayer fervently for an unknown person in China. That part of the story amazed me. The true meaning of praying for someone unknown because of a calling from God always amazes me. It's a wonderful, depth-lending aspect of this story.I wish that I could give this novel more than 5 stars. Five stars does not do this book any amount of justice. The only thing that will do this book justice, is if EVERYONE will please take the time to get a copy, open it up, and get lost among the characters, the settings and the extreme emotion of this book. While it IS book 3 in this series, they all take place in different areas of the world and are not coinciding with each other, so this book is easily read as a stand alone novel. It also leaves the reader thirsting for more, and I am praying fervently for a fourth novel in this series!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Yang Zhen-Li is in prison for teaching religion to children and sharing her faith with others. She has been beaten and now faces being raped and beaten some more by an evil guard who makes it his challenge to break her down. He wants Yang Zhen-Li to deny her faith and go along with the government rules.Julia is in an assisted living facility and a prayer warrior. God is placing on her heart a need to pray. She and her now deceased husband had been on a mission trip to China years before. Julia realizes that God wants her to pray for some one in China that is in dire need of prayer.Laura is a good friend and a prayer warrior with Julia. Laura is in the same assisted living facility as Julia.Maggie is a wayward teen-ager that ends up in a dangerous situation with Jake. She is in love with Jake and believes his every word.Margaret is a bitter old lady living in the same assisted living facility that Julia and Laura lives in and is Maggie's grandmother. This book is about standing up for what you believe in and even be willing to die for that belief. It is also about intercessory prayer; even if the person that needs prayer is in a far off country. Prayer can and does change people's hearts!Kathi Macias brought the characters and their stories in this book to life. I could not put this book down. I found myself praying for these characters myself and was saddened by what these characters went through, but thrilled that God was in Control in each situation. I was taken back by how this book ended. I asked myself, could it have ended any other way?
