    How to Self-Publish Your First Book is a quick and simple guide with one mission: to encourage those who always thought of writing a book but didn't know where to begin because getting it published sounded all too hard.

    Heidi was working as a makeup artist for many years, until one day in 2007, she decided to write the 'how to' book on makeup – something that was practical and easily implementable. However, she soon discovered that writing didn't come as easy to her as picking up a makeup brush. After nearly calling it quits throughout the many challenges faced at every twist and turn of the process, in the end perseverance prevailed and – although she felt she didn't know what she was doing – her determination to finish what she started eventually lead to her book's national success.

    Buoyed by this experience, Heidi documented the route she took as a self-taught author and wrote a book on how to write a book, and all she had learned about what not to do in the process of bringing a book to market. After both books were picked up and sold through major book stores Australia-wide, she has gone on to successfully publish a further four books.

    How to Self-Publish Your First Book will arm you with the confidence to start small and work your way up. You don't have to know everything! Just focus on what you want to share with the world.
