About this ebook

Why run from your troubles when you can fly instead?
When Caity Shaw is fired from her first job that doesn’t require an elf uniform, her older sister, Rachel, an event planner, hires her to work a meeting in Dublin. Caity jumps at the opportunity to travel abroad and escape her pathetic life. However, even four thousand miles from home, there’s no avoiding debt collectors, an overbearing mother, and haunting memories of a controlling ex.
While in Dublin, Caity suffers a series of humiliating mishaps, causing her to lose even more faith in herself. Caity struggles to earn Rachel’s respect—and to keep Declan, her hot Irish coworker, at arm’s length. Declan repeatedly saves Caity’s butt and helps boost her self-confidence, making it difficult to keep her distance from the charming womanizer. When Declan helps her research her Irish grandmother, Caity discovers the mysterious past of the courageous woman she barely knew might hold the answers to her future.

This is a fun book. It is certainly a great summer/beach read. This is the first in the series and I am really looking forward to reading more about the exploits of Caity Shaw. She is a great chick-lit character. I give this book 4.5 stars.Caity is lacking self-confidence at the beginning of the book, but with some rather interesting and hilarious situations in Dublin Ireland that she handles in a typical Caity fashion, she begins to boost her confidence in herself and in turn others begin to have more confidence in her. When she loses her job, her mother convinces her sister to hire her to work for her event planning company. The event just happens to be in Ireland. Because she has not experience, her sister gives her all the low level jobs like dressing up as a sausage, directing people to the washrooms at the dinner venue and putting guests in their cars. Even those things can go wrong and she ends up embarrassing herself in front of the "Boss" of the company they are working for. So many situations made me laugh but fortunately, there were no bad consequences. There is an ex mentioned many times that had a lot to do with the way Caity thinks of herself and it is great to see her getting over that situation. When Caity and her sister find out that their gram was from Ireland, they begin to bond over the search for her birthplace and for relatives. The other characters in the book really let Caity shine and show her at her best as she plays off of them.Eliza Watson did a great job with this book. She made it so much fun that it was easy to read, unfortunately the house did not get cleaned. I am looking forward to the next adventure of Caity Shaw. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Chick Lit and who loves to see the underdog grow and succeed. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this adventure of mishaps. Some are not born graceful as it appears to be with Caity Shaw. But when low self esteem is added to this, I really felt for this character. I received this for free and voluntarily chose to review it. I've given this a 4.5* rating and look forward to reading more of her adventures. This story addresses abuse in the mental form and how it can cause us to second guess ourselves. Add stalking by an ex and you can have a mess.

good characters, not your usual romance or happiy ever after. In fact my biggest disappointment about this book was the sudden end. I now know there are more in the series but that was a bit of a downer after sticking with the story for a long while. I liked the key character once I got a bit of background (initially she was a bit light and flighty). The writing could have been tighter and sometimes it read like a brochure not a novel. All in all an easy and pleasant read but I am not rushing out to read the next one
