Reviews for A Nation Changed
2 ratings1 review
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/545 short essays on various aspects of Scottish governance and public life in 2017 after a decade of the SNP in power. Worthwhile reading, particularly for to those outside Scotland who want a general overview of where Scottish politics/governance stands now - it is very easy to get a confused idea (or no idea at all) of what the SNP actually does on a year-to-year basis, away from constitutional issues. The essays are mostly good - there are a few duds, with some overly cheerleading or apologetic for the party, some going off on tangents, some a bit confused about the topic in hand and not really addressing the role of the Scottish government - but generally, they're thoughtful & fair and could easily be twice the length.
