    Introduction

God spoke to me on May 13, 2007, to change the original title to this new title, Outcry, Shalom! Shalom means peace. God gave me a firm confirmation on this journey to write seven books in the series.

Missing the mark is a biblical term for messing with God’s perfect plan. The ministry of Jesus is to stand behind His Word, letting the words soar from our mouths until total victory is accomplished by making disciples of Jesus Christ.

There’s an outcry from the multitudes, as the time gets near to the Antichrist reigning on earth, and they will be seeking peace.

Shalom derives from a Jewish word of greeting, from 1881, in the Hebrew dialect. Shalam, the root of Shalom, stands for what is intact, complete, and in good health.

    Prologue

So the Lord told Abraham, I have heard a great outcry…because their sin is so flagrant. I am going down to see if their actions are as wicked as I have heard. If not, I want to know. (Genesis 18:20-21, New Living Translation).

There was an outcry in heaven. In the heavenly realm, which is far above the first and second heavens where opaque clouds gently rest, Lucifer was orchestrating the angels in a heavenly choir to glorify the Lord. Lucifer stood in the reflection of YHWH, carefully observing Yahweh’s reaction to such praise and worship.

Lucifer discovered that these angels could worship him—then there will not be YHWH (Yahweh). He was the most beautiful, valuable, an archangel. None were higher than him except for the Christ. He grew tired of illuminating his glorious light for the Father, playing harmonious sounds for the heavens, and showing his beauty for the most High’s viewing. Being in the presence of the Father, Lucifer grew exceedingly tired of it. He glared at the other angels, and it clicked, I, Lucifer, will be God. I’m tired of playing second fiddle. I’m going to show these angels what I can do, and how skillfully I can manipulate God.

Lucifer gloated. He strolled in the heavens and sang a hymn, leaving the angels in a trance. He knew he was blessed with the gift of music and loved how its impact influenced the angels.

He spoke elegantly and with confidence, "Why would you want to continue to follow the one who calls himself I am that, I am when we are superior to the humans he wants us to bow to?" He raised his hands upward as if cueing a goalie and then bowed in front of the angels jokingly.

"He wants us to charge into war for them. On call for them, as they pray to Him, and come to their rescue when we… I said, we—could be worshipped like gods."

How could we do that to our Creator? one of the angels questioned.

"Just like he created us to do for those whiny, puny humans. He created them in the likeness of Christ and the one who is called I AM. They continue to disobey him, but He continues to find avenues for them to come back to Christ," he deadpanned.

How do you know these things? another angel inquired.

I sit in the presence of I AM, where I notice His reaction to what He sees, Lucifer added with a slight smile.

He only created the one from the dust of the earth, Angel argued.

"No, look, he took the rib from the man and created another of such greatness," Lucifer sneered.

"So, is this really meant to happen…we will serve them?" Angel wondered.

Lucifer smirked. Exactly. We were created with wings, and with such powers in the heavens, only to serve them. He clenched. Join me, and we’ll have them serve us. We won’t be such weaklings but superior to them, and someday, Yes! He raised his fist in the air. Someday we’ll walk the Earth in their likeness and watch so many fall and go against the One who has created them.

I’d like to see that, one of the angels nodded, agreeing with Lucifer’s babbling.

Michael the archangel challenged him. "How can you listen to this? We serve the Most High!"

Which side will you choose? Lucifer stretched his hands forward. "To bow to these puny humans or to have them bow to us?"

The Christ appeared after Lucifer’s ranting. The Father stood on his left side and knew the essence of each of his angelic beings—separation forever. Suddenly, angels vanished one by one until a third of them were nowhere to be found in the heavenly skies. Lucifer lost his position as an archangel and descended from the heavenly realm.

    On earth, many years later:

Lucifer, once the angel of light, now known as Satan, the Devil, still found he could be useful, and enormously resourceful, as angels and people could still be convinced to turn from worshipping the Most High. Pride set in his heart, and he was bold enough to speak to God and denigrate Job. He stood upright, maintaining his usurped authority before God.

Is there even one that will continue to serve you if they lose all that you blessed them with? He stomped his hoof. "Take your hand from them, and let them see disaster hit, I guarantee they’ll curse you and die. I’ll make sure of it, or they do not call me Satan," He hissed, narrowing his eyes.

"You choose to roam the earth. Satan is your name. You are a deceiver. You will prove yourself wrong, liar! YHWH said sternly. I do have one that has a heart and mind set on Me. Go ahead and test him, He shook his finger and pointed directly at Satan, who was standing in His presence. You will not kill Job. He has to die of his own free will."

Thank you, Y. He snapped his long, claw finger. I will prove that I am right on this one. His hoof patted his chest. No man is able to bear turmoil once it pours into his life. He will cross you. He may even call on me, the Devil, to give him relief. Satan chuckled, immensely proud of his ability to convince God to remove his protection.

YHWH approved of this arrangement to show he had one on the Earth that loved him dearly. He knew that only His Son, Jesus the Christ could bear more. Satan didn’t kill Job as promised in the arrangement with I AM, but he did kill all Job’s children. He destroyed all Job’s livelihood and riches. He did steal Job’s joy by whispering to his friends and wife to believe he sinned against His creator—just to curse Him and die.

Job cried, I wish I were back in the womb of my mother. Although this life is tormenting me, torturing, and quite enduring, my wife has lost her faith in you. He glared at the heavens. He cried. He yelled to the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, I have done nothing but pray to you. I prayed for my children. Now they are all dead! His knees touched the earth. I prayed for my salvation from my sufferings, but my wife is bickering and mocking You. My friends have lost their faith in You by asking me to admit I have sinned and to give up on You, my Lord. But God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, my forefathers for generations to come, I still will continue to worship You and love You. He stared at his ailing body. These boils and sores on my body are torture. I have cut deep into my skin to get some relief."

‘Curse Him!’ Satan whispered to Job’s spirit. He murmured, "Where’s your God now?" Then the wife repeated the words in the same tone.

Job shook his head. He wallowed in pain. He glared at the crack in the sky. The illuminating light shone on his sores, and they healed. He heard a voice say, Well done my faithful servant. He was blessed for honoring YHWH, the God of his forefathers, and received double blessings for his losses.

At the dawn of the Messianic Age:

Then Satan found another opportunity to go after the one they call the Messiah. He went after Jesus, during the forty days in the wilderness.

Lucifer quoted Numbers 14:34, Because your men explored the land for forty days, you must wander in the wilderness for forty years—a year for each day, suffering the consequences of your sins. Then you will discover what it is like to have me as an enemy.

When Moses was ordered to lead the millions from enslavement by the Egyptians, they wandered in the wilderness for forty days, and now, remembering the murmuring and the backbiting of the people against Moses and the I AM, Satan saw the opportune moment with Jesus in the desert. Satan chuckled at the thought of having hundreds go against the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, murmuring about going back to their oppressors and not satisfied with what Jesus was offering them. He provoked Jesus, pressing him to take his offers. Satan was disgusted as he saw Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit after leaving the Jordan River. Satan dismissed the event and watched him enter in the wilderness. In the hot desert, weeds grew wildly, and Jesus felt nothing but the scorching sand on his feet. Satan knew he could get Jesus’ attention now. He would surrender to his bidding—no food or water for a length of time that no man could withstand. He had to work his charm and magic on the Messiah. He would weaken him to be submissive to his will.

"So, you call yourself the Son of God! Angels were also known as the sons of God. But I see you haven’t eaten for over a month. If you are the Son of God, then tell this stone right here in my hand, to turn into a loaf of bread. He offered it to Jesus. Come on. You can do it, if you are the Son." He looked upward to the skies. He waited for the Son to do it.

Jesus spoke boldly, No. I will not do what you command.

    Satan stood there silent.

People do not live by bread alone. We do not only eat physical food for our bodies but feed our spirits with the Holy Spirit, our spiritual food. And I am filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus exclaimed.

Humph. Dismissive, Satan cleverly came up with another scheme that Jesus could not deny and would surrender. He escorted Jesus to the highest mountain and gestured at the wonders of sight and sound before them. Refreshing breezes and bright sunshine enveloped them. See the kingdoms before you. I have authority over the world, after the first lost it in the Garden of Eden, and you can have power over all these kingdoms because they are mine to pass onto you. All you have to do is worship me, and all of this will be yours. He waved his hands over the lands in front of them. What vast lands to admire and cherish, no limits and no boundaries, this can all be yours, He offered. He grew a huge smile on his face, showing teeth.

Jesus replied eagerly, I am the Word. Before Abraham was, I am. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him.

Satan’s anger festered within. I served Him once, and no more, Satan mumbled under his breath. He snapped his finger. His last opportunity was to take Jesus to Jerusalem, at the highest point of the temple, where he foresaw he would be once again as man and would worship him as the Messiah. He tempted Jesus to take the jump because he knew the two-thirds of the angels in the heavenly skies would protect him. He attempted to convince him by saying, Jesus, you could jump from here, even if it is like 50 feet high or so, and look, I know you have the power to call things forth. You can order your angels to protect you and guard you with a nice landing to touch your feet gently on the ground. They will hold you up with their hands as the wings keep you afloat before stepping on the stones below.

Jesus shook his head vigorously at this foolish gesture by the one once called Lucifer, the angel of Light, "The Word of God says, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’"

The Devil shook his head in disgust. He spoke silently, ‘I once tempted Job, and he survived the torture, still worshipping the One. Now I had the chance to tempt Jesus the Christ, whom I once saw in the heavenly skies with the one I called Father and failed.’ He was done tempting Jesus and left him in the wilderness—hoping for another opportunity to see Christ fail the One he served and worshipped. But Lucifer, now called Satan, did not succeed with this devious, self-centered plan. For Christ knows the Bible better than Satan. It doesn’t take much of scripture to fool humans. Christ, however, is a different creature. He knows the Word for He is the Word, and the Word has become flesh…

    Over two thousand years later

Satan pondered on the devious thought and said, ‘My chance has come again—to tempt the Christians, those who follow the Christ. They will soon believe I am their Messiah.’

I’ll succeed with these puny humans even though Christ has saved them many times before, but this time, it’ll be different. No human will survive the Tribulation, and many will take my side, seeking after relief like Job should have done many centuries ago, and bow down to me just like the one they call Christ…Jesus Christ should’ve done during his 40-day fast. These humans are not strong enough. Grace will not save them once I come forth and bring Hell on Earth. They can be broken. They’ll be destroyed. They’ll beg for their very lives. Their souls will belong to me like it should have been when I left the Heavenly Kingdom. Those angels who followed me will be released on the Earth, and those who mated with humans will rise in command under my ruling. The evil has passed through generations even after the Flood. Jesus always tries to destroy my devious plans, but I will succeed this next round.

Watch how many will follow me, definitely not the one they call Christ. Ha! They’ll follow themselves. I’ll make them believe they are gods like I did the first human being—Adam and his mate, Eve.

Now my eyes are on Solomon and his wife, Roya. Les Blanche is undoubtedly on their bumpers—operation in progress.

    Chapter 1: Darkness Among Us

    ISAIAH WILLIAMS

    Washington, D. C.

The last words expressed from a recording of the President said, "We become one when we work together as a unit like the Tower of Babel. They had it right. ‘We are one with God. We are gods ourselves.’"

Isaiah bowed his head after hearing the clip. He’s a tyrant, enthused at the thought of all of those receiving the microchip implant and watching our nation’s people turn into a robotic state of mind.

Isaiah recalled the passage from Genesis 11 verse 6.

But the Lord came down while the people were building a tower to the heavens and spoke:

"Look! The people are united, and they all speak the same language.

After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them!"

He then heard Hadrianus say these very words without a Bible in sight.

All the lights in the news broadcasting studio went dark. A fuse must have blown. Good. I don’t want to hang out with this religious zealot any longer than I have to.

Prime Minister Hadrianus with evil intentions, and his watchdog, the military leader Les Blanche, were also guests on the special television broadcast with Isaiah.

He felt an eerie, ominous presence lurking in the midst. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but he guessed Satan was dwelling in Lieutenant Les Blanche. He glanced straight ahead of him and saw red eyes glowing in the darkness. Startled, and a bit frightened, he blinked. He shook his head. He also wondered if Mrs. Childers was seeing the exact same thing—red, glowing eyes in the blackout, and within milliseconds the generator powered on and the lights flickered into the blackness.

Mrs. Childers frantically shook and waved her hands at the cameraman to restart the programming. He shook his head, no. Isaiah heard a male voice on the intercom, Cut. The show has timed out. We’re unable to get back on live air because the satellites lost the signal.

I have never experienced this happening before… Her voice sounded shaky and apologetic.

Isaiah rose slowly from his seat. His hands became sweaty. He loosened his shirt, and he felt like someone was suffocating him as he gasped for breath. His eyes shot at Lieutenant Les Blanche. No words were exchanged. Isaiah could still see the red glowing eyes and glimpsed a dark spirit in front of Les. He blinked and slightly shook his head in disbelief. He dismissed what he saw but quickly prayed without moving his mouth. Lord, I know I wear the helmet of salvation. You will reveal to me what I should see through Your Holy Spirit dwelling in me. Amen. He would definitely tell the Alliance Crusaders once he returned safely home.

Les Blanche followed Prime Minister Hadrianus, who stopped in his tracks to shake hands and yield a slight nod at Mrs. Childers. He thanked her for the opportunity. He turned and quickly exited the building without acknowledging Isaiah.

Isaiah politely thanked Mrs. Childers. She did not speak but gave him a grateful but shaky smile and nod. As he left the soundstage, he saw the cameraman signal wrap it up. Mrs. Childers shouted. Isaiah! Mr. Williams!

Isaiah stopped in his tracks, amazed at how distant her voice seemed, and pivoted in her direction as she raced towards him.

    What is it, Mrs. Chil—

    Did you feel that?

He nodded, unsure what she was feeling, but knew his skin crawled. He saw the fright in her eyes. He could see her body shivering as if she had seen a ghost.

I felt an odd chill, worse than goosebumps as if the temperature in the room changed. After the heated discussion between you and the Prime Minister…then Les Blanche interjected, just before the lights and everything went dead and became dark, umm…it felt cold.

    Okay.

Even with the heat of the spotlights on the stage. I felt as if I was suddenly in the Windy City, or Alaska, with a high chill factor.

Windy City, huh? He rubbed his bare chin.

With a discussion like yours, our body temperatures should’ve been warm or slightly hot. I felt the room become extremely chilly, She rambled as she rubbed her arms and shivered.

He kept his composure, Good points. Yes, the room temperature did change quite drastically. However, I thought it was because of the sudden network issue and everything going dead, and we overheard that the satellite didn’t get a signal.

Do you have any idea what caused all of this? she said nervously, as she shivered with fright.

Mrs. Childers… He paused to collect his thoughts and remind himself to be careful with his words. How will she receive what I’m about to tell her? He also remembered their conversation on law-abiding citizens being chipped.

Yes. Mister Williams? She gazed eagerly at him, waiting for his response.

He paused. Do you believe in spirits?

Sure, I do. So, what are you suggesting?

Isaiah waited, trying to discern whether he should continue.

    It was evil, She offered.

He nodded in agreement. He added, Satan’s doing.

Really? She quizzed as her eyes widened slightly in shock. She seemed to shrink and hugged herself snugly. Her eyes became watery.

Are you okay, Mrs. Childers? He stepped closer, mindful of a pastor’s caution toward his flock, wondering if she would accept his arms around her for comfort and protection.

Satan is alive? She seemed unsure the devil was possible.

Isaiah nodded. I strongly believe he had a lot to do with this…technology malfunction. I don’t know how to say this…did you see red glowing eyes for a moment in the darkness?

She nodded her head nervously up and down. He drew closer and extended his arms. She lowered her head, stepped forward, and he knew it was safe to embrace her in a hug. He felt wet drops on his shoulder. He lightly patted her back.

The cameraman rushed towards her. Mrs. Childers…we’re back on in five for the other segment!

Thank you, Mr. Williams. I appreciate your honor to our Lord. Bless you, She waved back as she walked toward the soundstage.

Blessings to you, he said to her back, and he walked towards the exit door to the garage.

He moseyed to his car. No one was in the garage. He heard only traffic on the interstate in the distance. He pushed his button to unlock his car door and start the engine. He slipped in the seat, closed the door, and felt an eerie presence. He saw his front and back window fog with enough moisture to turn on the defrost. His eyes widened. Before he pressed the button to clear his view, the words Satan lives appeared on his back window as he glanced in his rear-view mirror. I said those same words to Mrs. Childers just a few minutes ago. He felt a chill rise along his spine. The defroster erased the words, but he could still see them in his mind’s eye.

No weapon formed against me will prosper. Lucifer has descended from the heavens and now rests on earth. His lips formed an O, and he leaned back in his car seat as he put the gear in reverse. He backed up slowly and sped off.

    Chapter 2: Bestowed Upon Me

    ROYA WHITMORE

    Flight to

    Atlanta, Georgia

Roya was flying to Atlanta with all expenses paid. Her heart raced and thumped rapidly after security checked her travel bags. She felt a lump in her throat as she swallowed. Terrorists weren’t a big scare anymore, at least Roya thought. She felt the more substantial threat was the person in world command—Security of State. She couldn’t feel confident that he was one of the final acts on the world stage but knew his pervasive vitriol and evil actions were overcoming people’s sense of graciousness. The news was full of events that indicated a lack of self-control. The signs mentioned in the Bible—and in sermons, were all present. She felt a cool breeze after scanning her key-pass at the boarding area. She felt a thrill as she was called to the loading podium for first class seating. At least this executive producer honors his actresses—and screenwriter.

She tried to relax in the spacious comfort of the first-class seat, turning her cell phone off. She remembered Solomon’s sermon last Sunday. ‘Turn that cell phone off when you don’t need it!’ he roared. ‘They can track you! As of now, they are still required to make that device a communications device only. You don’t need to be on the web every minute of every day! They’ve changed privacy! Right now, you don’t have that freedom you used to have.’ Roya smiled as she remembered joining in the light laughter of the congregation. ‘Thank God in heaven that He forgave everything for us, from then to the day we pass over!’

Patiently waiting for the other passengers to board the plane, she asked the flight attendant for a wireless headset and tuned the built-in satellite radio on her armrest to a Christian music channel. After a few minutes had passed, the airline attendant began the steps to the pre-flight instructions, which she heard played through the headset. Her ears perked up as a new line had been added. Your chipped keycard has all the pertinent information for your health and your flight. It is why we have a chain upon it. Please wear it until you deboard the plane. If we have an emergency, whether it’s personal or for the entire passenger list, we shall quickly be able to deal with each one of you.

How did they get my health information? When did that happen? She knew that there were many new laws passed in the last year, and the government had decided that privacy laws were useless with the ubiquity of the internet. They probably hacked the doctors’ offices. She shook her head. Buyer beware. I only pray that they can’t know so much about me that they change my thoughts. She quickly grabbed the seatbelt at the request of the attendant to the cabin.

Her mind drifted to her family. She recalled their last emotional, conflicted moment as they watched a televised program with Les Blanche and Pastor Isaiah Williams that ultimately blacked out. She knew it was not technical issues, but there was a spiritual shift with the inevitability of upcoming changes foretold in the New Testament. Unchanging events are bound to happen such as massacres, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other disasters leading up to the rulership of the one who will call himself Messiah. She remembered her fear for her family. Solomon took ownership of his household and led them in prayer. The presence of the Lord was in the midst of it all. She felt her eyes becoming heavy. Her mind played glimpses of this memory, and her heart felt at ease, knowing the Spirit was moving and protecting them. She sensed something ominous was going to happen but couldn’t put her finger on it. Her eyes closed slowly, her mind became blank, and she dozed off.

She saw herself in the middle of destruction. Bombs and explosions were in her midst. Jewel yelled for Lavonne to get out of the building before it exploded. Lavonne was in the eye of the storm and ran out of the building in the nick of time. Sunny was in the building nearby arguing with bystanders. Fire was coming from the sky. Roya attempted to run near the building to rescue Sunny from danger. Then, the dream zoomed into another episode of Lavonne being in another building, and Roya shielded her with super-human defensive moves against the attacker. Roya thought, ‘when did I learn how to do that?’ The attacker wore dark clothes, and she was unable to see his or her face. As she held Lavonne’s head, warm blood oozed down her fingertips. Once they got outside, smoke, debris, and fire surrounded them.

Then suddenly, in the center of the grassy plains, Jewel stood with long, grayish-white streaked hair, looking about eighty years of age and Roya pondered on how she’d aged so drastically. Seconds later, her adult children were running towards her, and her youngest twins were not there. ‘Where are my babies, my precious little ones?’

Lavonne and Sunny were present in the circle surrounding Jewel. Then, Jesus appeared through the midst, in the clouds, not touching his feet on the ground as he extended his hand to Roya. She touched the fingertips as he pulled her closer to get a full grip. Jesus placed his arm around her waist in a hugging position, welcoming her home with the angels in the background, thousands, singing and playing instruments. What a harmonious event! She looked back to see if He’d reach his hands out to the others as she ascended in heavens admiring the harmony of the angels, higher and higher, seeing galaxies in outer space, and waiting to reach the Kingdom of God. Startled, she heard a female voice coming from one of the angels. Miss, Miss, Miss! The angel began shaking her shoulder.

She was startled in her sleep, awakened by a female’s voice.

Hello, miss. Miss. We need your seatbelt on during this ride, said the blonde-haired attendant with blue eyes and keen features.

Huh-uh, she looked around, shaking the sleep out of her eyes. Oh. I thought I put it on already. Sorry. Roya quickly snapped her seatbelt in the buckle on the side of her waist.

She was astounded by the dream she just had. She saw Jesus Christ and His harmonious angels. How peaceful that dream was. How exciting.
