Quit Smoking in 2 Weeks - Dr. Shahriar Mostafa
Chapter One: Introduction
You must have heard or like most of us, have a misconception that quitting cigarette needs strong mental strength and willpower. But in reality, the notion of strong willpower and mental strength necessary to quit smoking is a myth. Every one of us has enough willpower & mental strength to be successful in quitting.
What we need is a perfect strategy, a tested and proven method to counter physical and psychological dependency.
Let me explain.
Every smoker knows that quitting just doesn't happen, it's a difficult process and needs effort. To every smoker, the most important question is Why smoking is so difficult to quit.
You must have thought this too. It is difficult to quit because as you probably know, cigarettes contain a chemical compound called Nicotine. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to man. It creates a physical dependency like any other hard drug or alcohol.
How nicotine does that? Well, when you smoke, nicotine enters your bloodstream and reach your brain, it activates a particular part of your brain called pleasure center of the brain. This activated pleasure center starts a biochemical process that creates a pleasing effect.
Your brain becomes addicted to this pleasing effect. This biochemical process is responsible for physical dependency to nicotine. It means you physically need or crave nicotine. Without it, you get real physical symptoms. Mental strength or willpower has nothing to do with it.
On the other hand, cigarettes make a smoker feel calm, content, alert and focused. This high or elevated mental condition causes psychological dependency. Some willpower is needed to overcome this psychological dependency.
––––––––
Physical dependency along with psychological dependency makes quitting cigarette extremely tough.
So, to be successful you need a method that manages both physical and psychological dependency. An ideal method that manages both the dependencies is bound to produce a positive result. Yes, the motivation and willingness to quit is necessary, but comes in second.
Then there is another problem with methods of quitting, called relapse, it means you start smoking again after successfully quitting and staying smoke free for a few days. As smoking is an addiction, it has a high relapse rate.
Most of the time, with any method or program you need to try more than once to be successful in preventing relapse. But trying, again and again, feels embarrassing.
Please take a note that, it's not your fault. It's the method of quitting that needs an update to help you kick the habit.
Helping smokers quit smoking is a million-dollar business opportunity. So, research and development of a perfect method are ongoing. Many methods were developed and tried to make the transition from smoker to nonsmoker easy and efficient. Those old methods sometimes work and sometimes don't. The relapse rate is high, and the withdrawal symptoms are difficult.
Older methods of kicking the habit needed an upgrade.
This book describes a unique and new method named Quit Smoking in 2 Weeks
or QS2W Method. This method or program works on physical and psychological addiction with almost 97% success rate.
The QS2W method is developed by combining the most effective and proven parts of various methods and modified to give the best possible result with minimal discomfort and ensure a low chance of relapse. It deals with both physical and psychological aspects of the addiction.
And it works.
Multiple studies show, the success rate of this program is 96.7%, and the relapse rate is only 3.2%.
The QS2W method is the most successful method ever developed.
The method has 15 parts, divided into 15 chapters. To get expected result, you need to follow the chapters for 14 days (2 Weeks) in sequence, one chapter a day. Usually 90℅ of the time you need to go through the 2 weeks process only once, but some of us (less than 10℅) need to do it twice for a total of 28 days.
There are some personalized quitting methods, offered by doctors and clinics with a hefty fee. But QS2W program described here is easy to follow. You can do it without any help of a counselor or health care personnel. I recommend you to try it yourself at least once as described in this book. It's cost effective and will save you a lot of
