    Foreword

Lucas was still lying on the bed.

This could not be real. Not again.

After ninety unbearable days, he was again on quicksand. Without knowing the terrain, nor the conditions of the battlefield.

Carmen was not in a better position. Having broken with Lucas almost three months ago and with a task not easy to assume, he thought that everything was under control. Until tonight.

He found it in that bar and again the same mistake. He knew that he could not go back to stumbling or all the foundations of his perfect controlled life, they would be in danger, but there he was, trying not to make noise so as not to have to say goodbye in the dark as if it were a thief.

A thief who had left much more than his physical belongings, one that had before him the man with the ability to split it between reason and heart, leaving her vulnerable, without shields of defense and with the indecipherable instability that often afflicts women in love.

At what point had he allowed his relationship with Lucas to be more than sex? His feelings for him grew so uncontrolled that he had no choice but to cut corners.

    And here it was again.

Five minutes in a bar, they transformed into a night of incomparable passion. Like all those that occurred when they were together.

It was supposed that she had left him months ago but five minutes before him and her perfect and orderly world crumbled like a house of cards.

He had to protect himself. His past experiences taught him that men only pretend one thing, to put you in their bed until they get tired of doing it and then go for another without looking at who they leave behind.

Lucas got up and put on his boxers. Slowly he headed for the kitchen, but not before turning to see the beautiful woman covered between sheets that pretended to be asleep. If the situation were with another, he would have laughed at the young woman's artistic misinterpretation, but he was not anyone. It was her, Carmen. His Carmen, his little stubborn demon with golden hair. The woman impossible to forget. That which occupied his mind day and night like a fever impossible to heal.

Carmen was at home and in her bed, again, but for how long?

He decided not to think. He returned to the bed, embraced her and let the cold destiny decide his future.

    Not one, but two

The night before, only twelve hours ago, everything was starting again...

It was seeing her in the bar, after a long and exasperating three months of rupture, so that Lucas could feel his heart pounding uncontrollably, his hands tightened and his body insisted on screaming.

I could feel the blood running through his veins burning like uncontrolled lava.

That woman attracted him more than any other. She burned him inside. He was totally and madly mad for her.

    Lucas had tried everything.

The time they were together did the impossible to conquer it but Carmen's distrust was so growing and stormy that it was impossible to prove to her that she was the only one with whom she wanted to sleep, wake up and dream.

How to conquer a love that does not want to be conquered? How to show you that you are everything to me?, that your kisses are the ones I need every day to know what my reason for being is, that without you the day does not make sense and the nights are the darkest hours to remember . If you were able to believe me... "

Only she had managed to get a man like him, one who in the past was unable to remember the name of a woman, to feel so unstable today.

That woman was capable of making him love so much, that his feelings walked on the precipice of love and hate at the same time and with the same intensity.

Lucas was rabid, furious and desperately in love.

It had been ninety days in which he had felt like a fool waiting for something, whatever it was, whenever it came from her. A call, a message, an email... something... a signal, a reason, some logical reason, but nothing.

I'm not ready. Those were his words.

And he left. When they were better as a couple, she fled leaving him in the loneliness of an unrequited love.

He shook his head to not remember, not to feel and mainly not to repent.

He felt like an idiot having fallen again. One and a thousand times it had been repeated that the day he saw her again he would completely ignore her. She was dead and buried.

In those ninety days, I had gone from incomprehension to anger and pain... a lot of pain. When he met her he wanted to risk everything for the first time, he wanted to let himself be carried away by the feelings without thinking about anything, and the only thing he got was that she put it aside like an old rag that you simply throw into a garbage can without looking back.

He tried to resist. He tried to deny himself that to have her in his arms was to feel that time was moving only for them to love each other.

Carmen had become his weakness. Your only weakness

When he could see her enter the bar, her heartbeat stopped.

In spite of the distance, she was able to perceive that perfume of roses that only she left with the simple movement of her hair.

Her walk was sensual, lustful, natural, unplanned... and those beautiful bright and dazzling eyes gave off life, a life I wanted to share with her today and tomorrow.

At the other end he laughed with that slicked—up idiot who kept staring at her and who managed to make the rage circulate through his blood to the rhythm of a formula one.

His feelings betrayed him to the point of not letting him think.

Could it be that he had forgotten it when he still had the delicate salty taste of his skin on his lips?

Lucas tensed, the need to go find her and claim what was his dominated.

I hated to see her talking to another man and balancing her eyelashes on a femme fatale plan, free of compromise, free of feelings, free of him...

He wanted to take her by the arm and take her away. He wanted to take her away from any kind of male other than himself.

She wanted to show that stupid slicked—up, who talked to her without taking her eye off her cleavage, that she was his and only his. That character had no right to even look at it. He needed to take her with him and get lost in his mountains of pleasure, that of course, after blowing that wonderful insipid stretched out his wonderful cowhair hairdo and sending him straight into the stratosphere.

    This is crazy

Lucas took another sip of his drink and shaking his head to bring order to his busy thinking thought it best to leave the bar, but simply that solution was impossible.

His sea—colored eyes nailed her and refused to leave her.

Lucas, I'm not ready. Those were his last words before leaving his apartment.

    Ready for what!

He had behaved with her as with no other. Please, if I had even been faithful!

He, who in his past had not rejected any, turned out to be the perfect boyfriend, the one who simply wanted to go back home to jump headlong into those soft caresses, taste his essence as a woman and let the outside world stop if he gave her the win. He did not care.

The time together was unique and he never felt better, nor had he behaved better... but Carmen gave him that stupid excuse and just left.

The suffering of not seeing her was the worst of the torments and now there, looking at her from afar, without being able to approach, was the most difficult test she ever faced.

Only a week ago he was in Ceuta, aiming at the heart of the chungo, chief of the narcos of the south while three other rabid dogs pointed him. These guys insulted him, shouted and threatened to blow his brains, however, not a drop of sweat ran through his body, but tonight, he had no strength, courage was fled and he felt unable to look at those delicate eyes, give him the coldest of greetings to then leave.

Carmen laughed and was the sweetest of its perditions.

That woman was strong, audacious, with a false touch of bad humor that had him upside down.

Lucas could not contain the expression of boredom that seized him when he heard the erotic insinuations of that bland brunette, who was rubbing on his arm.

You can have worse luck. Of all the bars in Madrid and we have to find ourselves here and now. Lucas thought about his bad fortune.

Following the intense law of attraction that had always surrounded them, their eyes met and he knew he had no escape. I would have to get closer.

    — Precious, if you forgive me, I have to say hello to a friend.

    — I wait for you— she answered anxiously.

    — Better not beautiful. Today I'm not in the mood.

The brunette left angry and Lucas took a deep breath to face one of the worst of their missions. She.

He walked without separating his eyes from Carmen's. It was simply awesome. Those shorts and a casual shirt stunning, attached to those red heels and her beautiful blonde hair in the wind. It just took his breath away.

Only she was able to hypnotize him in such a way that the anger of abandonment is replaced by a, do not ever leave me.

He approached and with a neutral voice could pronounce.

—Hello. How long— tried to seem indifferent but it did not work.

    — Yes

Carmen could hardly answer. Her voice throbbed like a nervous schoolgirl.

Since she discovered it in the back of the bar and could see that hot steel look watching her in the distance she was not able to reason. The world ceased to exist and she
