- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In Camp Payback, we get to see more of Alex, Lauren’s outspoken and witty best friend.I think Camp Payback was much better than Camp Boyfriend, because there was no love triangle, and because Javier & Alex’s chemistry was tremendous.Alex is such a relatable protagonist! I really enjoyed reading about her family problems, because that just added more substance to her character. We actually understand why she acts the way she does, and why she’s so impulsive at times. Javier is also such a great guy. He has so many problems and situations that I really admire how strong he is.I really couldn’t help but smiling every time they were together because there was no doubt in my mind that they were a great couple.I really flew through this book because I wanted to see how everything was going to unravel.By the end of the book, both Alex & Javier go through wonderful character growth. I really enjoyed seeing how they both made each other better. The ending was so sweet, and I really enjoyed how mostly everything was resolved neatly.I read this book at the right time, because I was suffering from a really intense book hangover. This was just what I needed! Can't wait for the next book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Totally different from the first book.
I was expecting more from Lauren, but this shifts gears to Alex. With this shift in main character we get a whole new view and a whole different story.
It's just as engaging as the first book and readers will not be disappointed.
