      INTRODUCTION

      The Birth of a Brave Book

      This book began in the mind of one of Napoleon Hill’s students. After the 1928 publication of Hill’s sixteen-volume Law of Success, the writer made a practice of holding interviews, or what we today would call creativity sessions, with individual students.

      One student proved particularly insightful. Within fifteen minutes after her arrival at the author’s office, he wrote, she had ‘stepped up’ the vibrations of her mind to where she was ‘tuning in’ on the Master Mind principles. As a result, Hill continued, a wave of ideas began to flash into the student’s mind. He wrote down forty of them, the first of which was: "Rewrite the Law of Success philosophy in a brief form which can be presented in one volume, at a very low cost, so it can be placed in the hands of hundreds of thousands of students who might otherwise never have the benefit of
