About this ebook

Holbein the Younger was one of the greatest portrait masters and the most sophisticated stylists in the art of painting all the time in German art. The artist's work survived for us while working in the courtyard of British King Henry VIII was rated by critics and collectors as his greatest achievement, making him so famous today.
He himself was the successor to a tradition of a family of famous artists, his father, Holbein was the old representative of late Gothic painting in Germany, one of his brothers was also preparing for an artist but died too young. The two brothers first woke up in Augsburg to their own father, and then found their own workshops in Basel, Switzerland. Holbein is one of the second-generation German artists of the 16th century. Their great and glorious front-runners were Matthias Grunewald, Albrecht Durer and Lucas Cranach, who had a great reputation as Holbein artists began to learn the basics of art.
