The Stone Cold Killer (Part One) - Phoebe Cutlass
Chapter One
The contract-killer watched as the young woman boarded the bus. As usual, she was the only person getting on at that stop but today something was different: she was clutching a bundle of files to her chest. As a result, she had some difficulty retrieving the travel card from the top of the brown corduroy bag which hung slackly at her hip.
He watched as she fumbled for the card and then passed it across the electronic reader. She glanced momentarily at the driver and then took her usual place next to the window, just two seats down on the right-hand side. He knew that for most of the twenty-minute journey she would stare vacantly out at the stream of traffic.

As far as he could tell, even sex was off the cards. Now that was one weird bitch, he thought. And it wasn’t as if she was bad looking. But then maybe she was getting laid on the college premises. Maybe one of the lecturers was pawing her tits. Who knows, maybe she only ever took off her glasses for the fucking Proctor and his wife.
To him, it seemed a little screwy to be so caught up in academic life and to have no distractions. But then this was something favourable in the scheme of things. It would make the task of killing her a mostly straightforward matter.
She was
