The Productivity Playbook - Matt Weik
Introduction
Are you getting enough done during the day? Are you left wishing there were more hours in the day to complete your tasks? What if I told you there are some key strategies that you can implement to help you get more done as well as some time-wasting behaviors that you need to minimize or eliminate? It’s true.
We all have the same 24-hours in a day. Why not maximize every minute to live the life you’ve always wanted? Maybe you want to make more money? Maybe you want to grow your business? Maybe you just want the satisfaction of knowing you’re maxing out your potential and filling up your time with productive tasks that will benefit you or those around you? YOU CAN do all of those things!
In this book, I want to help you not only get motivated to produce like you’ve never imagined but to help you take a deep dive into your day to find out what tasks or behaviors are crushing your ability to stay productive and fix each of them.
Chapter 1: Figure Out Your WHY
You picked up this book because you wanted to be more productive in one area of your life. What is that? Why do you want to be more productive? Those two questions should be leading you to your WHY.
Let’s use an example and it might actually be your precise circumstance. Maybe you are a business owner or solopreneur (an entrepreneur who runs his or her own business without any employees) trying to grow your business. You need to tackle every area of your business yourself – it’s all on your plate to complete. You have accounts receivable, accounts payable, taxes, finances, bookkeeping, marketing, sales, customer service, inventory, prospecting, follow-up, posting on your business social media platforms... you see where I’m going with this. The list goes on and on. If you’re trying to stay lean because you’re in the infancy stage of your business, you aren’t looking to outsource anything that could potentially cut into your profits.
How do you handle this intense workload? It’s simple, increase your productivity. But why would you want to do this? It all stems back to your WHY. Do you want to make more money? Do you want to get more done in a shorter period of time to allow yourself to have more time with your family? Are you simply overwhelmed by how much demand is put on you by your clients to produce and get them the product or service that provides them with the results they desire? Regardless of what your WHY actually is, you’re going to have to dedicate yourself to practicing and implementing the strategies in this book.
If you don’t work on improving your productivity each day, nothing will change. And as they say, Nothing changes if nothing changes.
If you aren’t willing to put in the effort to improve and change, this book will do nothing for you. Yet, if you implement the strategies I present to
