The second book in the series, Ghost Town follows the adventures of a handsome young lawman who comes to tame a haunted outlaw prairie town, only to lose his precious wife to a gang of hungry child vampyrs. Meanwhile, back in the Washington, DC, the continent’s popular Leader and his family begin a long journey west to connect with distant constituents and unaware a madman from his past is plotting his assassination. Blaming the Leader for the ruination of his family, the villainous mortician turned body-parts dealer plans to intercept the Leader’s transport when it’s just outside of Ghost Town and kill everyone on board, unless the new Protectors led by the heartbroken lawman can stop him. Offering both bold physical action, and softer, more humorous moments, Ghost Town is a worthwhile read.
