Kallisti: A Collection of Poetry

About this ebook
Pick these apples up, turn them in your hand, gaze, scent, bite. And, if you dare, pass them on.
Golden apples blossomed, fruited, and fell in discordant seasons. Somehow they rolled home, nearly three decades gone. Gathering the windfalls of bygone years, a revelation took hold. Here lie even those directed furthest from the tree.
Kallisti: “for the fairest.” This is a book of poems about families discovered, examined, and either given up or lost. Expect no feel-good love-ins here. The subjects in these works taste different with each bite.
D.R. Perry
D.R. Perry lives in Rhode Island, where all her books are set. Although she's not a native New Englander, once up north she got so inspired she couldn't leave. A wild Northern Muse attacked. D.R. used Typing; it was Super Effective. D.R. writes all kinds of things. Mostly, they have strange and unusual elements. Not strange isotopes or Strontium or anything like that, but creatures who are people or people who are creatures. Beware of the Attack Poetry and rampant puns. Keep off the grass, or the song parodies may bite. She lives with her husband, daughter, and dog in the Ocean State, which she loves to remind people is not an island and not Long Island. D.R. is well aware that her home state has both of those things, but isn't defined by them. Maybe she likes it here so much because it reminds her that she's also more than the sum of her parts. D.R. hopes you have as much fun reading her books as she did writing them.

This is a work of poetic fiction with frequent bouts of metaphor, simile, alliteration and consonance. All descriptions and perspectives are my own creations fresh from my imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
