    The Decadence is heading to Silux to destroy the planet. When the Entity is done, he intends to move onto Planet X91 then the Earth. Queen Mitta of the Crenoxian empire believes she has a foolproof plan to destroy the Entity. She must convince the humans on Planet X91 to murder the Decadence. Josh, Florian, and Clay smell a trap. When Josh is handed the detonator to activate the solar bombs the alarm bells ring.
    On top of his suspicions, Josh knows Queen Mitta wants to have her daughter, Princess Evelina freed from the holding pen and reborn. He also knows Evelina wants her ship, ‘the Piper’ returned. He is convinced Mitta will do anything to keep her daughter happy. Queen Mitta has no idea about the determination of the human race to hold onto what they have.

      CHAPTER ONE

      EXPLORER TEAM three to the Piper spaceship, how do you read? Over.

      Sitting on the black leather chair in front of the bouquet of computer monitors, fourteen-year-old Landon, the youngest in the colony was asleep. The council members had given the lad the opportunity to be on duty when one of the five explorer teams radioed in. At first Landon felt excited about the idea. Twenty minutes into his three-hour shift, Landon felt bored watching the blank communication monitor. He fell asleep thinking about the other teenagers who were learning how to ride a horse and helping the colony of five-hundred to survive on Planet X91.

      Landon wanted some action. His mind craved for excitement. He believed climbing a mountain or following a tunnel underground was more his thing. He wanted to know what it felt like back on the Earth and he wanted it here on Planet X91. When he closed his eyes for a long blink, he began dreaming of what he longed to do. In his dream he was a hero. Everyone looked at him to plan and bring to fruition a successful rescue of a girl who was trapped underground in a cave.

      Explorer team three to the Piper spaceship; is anyone awake?

      Landon slowly opened his eyes and lifted his head. He moved his mouse-colored hair from his eyes and stared at the computer monitor in front of him. Hearing the echo of footsteps coming closer, he stood leaning on the bench. He had just swiped up the microphone when Florian Fawkes stepped onto the bridge of the Crenoxian spaceship.

      Landon, I hope you weren’t asleep?

      I sort of dosed off. It won’t happen again.

      Florian giggled, slapping the lad on the shoulder. All’s good. Don’t worry. I won’t bite or tell Major Reltso you should be punished. It’s not a crime to fall asleep from boredom. Waiting for one of the explorer teams to call in is boring. I might have fallen asleep too.

      I want some excitement, admitted Landon.

      I can understand what you mean, but I prefer boring. I have seen enough excitement to last me a number of years.

      Explorer team three to the Piper. What’s going on back there?

      Florian handed the microphone to Landon. It’s your job.

      Landon here, team three. Is there anything to report?

      Where the hell have you been?

      Tell Murray you were busy, suggested Florian.

      I was busy on the other side of the bridge, said Landon.

      Doing what?

      Watching the video recording of the planet’s surface the drone recorded nearly six months ago. The land on the other side of Planet X91 looks promising. There’s plenty of water and the land looks perfect for an outpost.

      Not where we are? We need Josh, Florian, and Clay here five minutes ago. I’m sending a snap shot of a structure.

      Murray, Florian Fawkes here. What do you think the structure is?

      It resembles a crashed spaceship.

      We are on our way; Florian out. She downed the microphone and looked at Landon. Follow me. It looks as though you will get your excitement. Josh Quinn, Major Reltso, Nara, Clay Silver, and I will meet you at the shuttle closest to the beach. A team of workers have just started leveling the land near the last sand dune. When the task is done, they will construct a massive shed where the shuttles will be housed. We must protect their hull from the salt in the air, wind, and the rain.

      Do you want me to collect anyone else for this adventure?

      No. Every one else is busy, said Florian. Landon, a thought just entered my mind. The Piper must be washed daily. We need a roster of volunteers.

      Daily? echoed Landon.

      Yes, daily. The salt in the air might damage the outer hull.

      A bright narrow light appeared on the other side of the bridge. Landon screamed. Florian sat on the closest chair looking and acting relaxed.

      What are you doing? It’s a ghost. We have to get out of here. Why didn’t anyone tell me this ship was haunted? yelled Landon. He gripped Florian’s arm then yanked her out of the chair.

      Relax, this ship isn’t haunted, giggled Florian.

      When the light dispersed the image of a man stood in front of Landon and Florian. The tone in his voice sounded military.

      Miss Fawkes, why are you still on the bridge. Explorer team three have discovered something important.

      Landon gulped down the bile in his throat, staring at the semi-transparent image. What is it? How does it know your name? Florian, why aren’t you running? Landon stammered.

      Henry, the lad is Landon.

      You have an elevated heart rate. Relax.

      Why does everyone want me to relax? This is weird. We have to leave Planet X91 immediately.

      Henry is a Crenoxian hologram. The ship’s keeper.

      I have never seen the thing, said Landon.

      Thing! Why am I labelled a thing? questioned Henry. He paced back and forth in front of Landon and Florian.

      Landon, look what you have done? You hurt Henry’s feelings, laughed Florian.

      I have no feelings, but I do resent being labelled a thing, stated Henry.

      I take it back, groaned Landon.

      How come you haven’t been introduced to Henry? asked Florian.
