Introduction
INPUT IS THE BEGINNING of everything about you. This is briefly explained in the trivium. The trivium is what gets you to choice. We live in a world where a number of things are starting to matter. They always did but no one outside of the issue cared until it was focused on. Black lives matter. White lives matter. Blue lives matter. All lives matter is a collective mantra repeated and protested in the media and in the streets of every major city across the United States. The question is immediately answered within the question itself. It’s obvious, it’s self-evident, and it’s not a question that should be asked because life is. When something is; there is a definite reason for its existence which makes it matter. We as a people don’t get to choose whether a life matters or not. We can only decide on whether or not; we are going to adhere to it.
We, the people, are always making decisions on things that have already been decided on by the creator of the universe. Our decisions based on input, processing, and output or the lack thereof; determines our outcome. So, we must try and think about what is truth and what is just us getting along, to get along. The creator gave us a set of universal rules. These rules deal with natural law and what is. If you as a person or we as a people; go against these natural laws, there are consequences. If you as an individual or we as a people adhere to these natural laws there is reward. There is sowing and reaping of good or bad behavior, depending on the seed you’ve planted. Seed planting the harvesting has to do with life on a macro and micro level. I intend to focus on the micro level seed which is environment, thought, and actions. Mainly you as an individual and the thoughts you allow to enter your mind. This is the micro universe that eventually affects the macro universe. One thing affects the other in an ever revolving cycle.
In my attempt to stay on topic this book will focus on the micro universe which is you. Choice on a micro level like a snowball rolling down a hill grows to be something either devastating or good, depending on its aim. I would like the readers of this book to look upstream
to where problems start whether than dealing with them downstream
when the problem is fully grown. We, as a people, tend to point the finger at problems and things when it spilling over into our lives and or communities. We allow bad behavior, bad education, bad food, bad entertainment, etc. etc. to flood our environment and act negatively on those who take in those bad things as a literal way to be. This, in some ways, is the gap between people. The false narratives usually shine the light on the illusion of race and our communities. We believe it; if it doesn’t affect us individually. We believe it; if it doesn’t enter our bubble. Fortunately and unfortunately it always does. It does to remind us that we’re all a part of one family called the human race. The cup has to run over to remind us of who we are as a people, under one banner called humanity.
Getting back to my notes for this introductory; this book is about micro choices that could lead to macro resolutions that will, not can, but will put the world on a spin that will lead to success in nondestructive ways. Most people know what the golden rule says, "treat people the way you want to be treated. I try to adhere to that but take it a little bit further by also following the lessor known platinum rule which is,
treat people the way, they want to be treated." In both rules, there are cautions to watch out for and one deals with a person’s moral character. If you come to find that a person’s idea of success is based on hate and the destruction of a people, a place, or a thing deemed naturally made. This person is not to be revered as anything but what and who they are. The success I speak of is based on love, care, peace, and all the good stuff we can see in Hollywood movies.
Good and bad situations serve a distinct purpose. That purpose is to shape life but that shaping comes from choice. You, me, and every individual on earth is given the ability to choose 1, what to think, plan, practice, and execute. I call that function Choose Your Gate (thoughts and path) Choose your Fate (the outcome).
It all starts there. "The mind is a terrible thing to waste. That mantra was broadcasted over the major three networks when I was a child. The commercial was dealing with drugs in the inner cities. But now, because there are so many networks, all dealing in entertainment and making money,
the mind is all message is lost. The mind begins the process of thinking via the trivium, consciously or unconsciously. I talk about this a little more in the section called the trivium, but the brain like a computer takes in information (input). This information comes in via multiple sources such as reading books, movies, television, billboards, news media, video games, conversations, environment immersion, music, etc. and is deconstructed by the brain (processed). Once the processing stage is over, the brain makes a decision what to think, and how to act based on the information it was given (output). The input stage is the most important stage in the thought process. The input information stage starts in the ancestral DNA, messages of who you are and how to act is recorded in the subconscious mind and molecules of the DNA. Other messages are recorded in the mind of a child in the belly of the mother during pregnancy. More messages are recorded in the mind via environment. The old term
do as I say, not as I do," have a very low success rate.
Information, good or bad, are seeds that generate thoughts in the mind. These seeds are planted by the words and actions of others. These thought seeds, like seeds in nature, need to be watered, feed, and nurtured to grow and become ‘your words, actions, and habits;’ and for most they unconsciously are. Think of thoughts as being things. See thoughts as being a living breathing person, or animal. Do you feed the good ones well and the bad ones poorly, or do you feed the bad ones well and neglect the good ones. If you feed the good ones well, the good ones gain strength and keep you healthy, successful, blissful and bountiful. Think in the reverse for feeding the bad ones. When the bad over powers the good, constant trouble becomes the norm in all parts of your life. Life is a beautiful thing when you knock, seek, and find your bliss. We all have a picture of our bliss, whether or not it’s known or hidden within. We have it. It is not always pronounced in a form that the seekers can understand, but when you seek you find.
This book is called Choice,
but I want your mantra to be:
CHOOSE Your GATE; CHOOSE Your FATE or any of the other key words I placed in the diagram. I start with GATE first, and talk about it more because it is the beginning of choice. Please, please, please familiarize yourself with the Trivium before digging into the rest of the content. The trivium sets up the GATE (thoughts and the mind). The trivium will allow you to reset your thinking if needed and 99.99% of the time you will need it in one or more areas of your life, like I did. Like I do!
Enjoy and apply!
Part I - The Trivium
THE TRIVIUM
The Trivium is an ancient method to learn and think effectively and therefore to come to truth.
IT IS LIKE A manual for how our mind, as a processing unit
works, and for how to use it in an effective way, without prejudging and logic errors.
TRIVIUM: From Latin (Tres, Tria, Three – 3)
Via: Way, Path, Road – Meaning (Threefold Path to Truth)
The Trivium: "is the study for how to gather, filter, and understand or know anything."
The Trivium allows its practitioner to weed through falsehoods in order to get to the truth. The trivium is the trinity within us is thought, emotion and action.
The trivium also works in conjunction with the Quadrivium which is the science of numbers. The Quadrivium is the four classical liberal arts which are Arithmetic, Geometry, Music, and Astronomy. The trivium and its processes must be adhered to in order for any of the Quadrivium arts to be practiced. This practice uses the five senses in its processes. The five senses is a major piece of the puzzle for thought, emotion, and action; which needs the trivium to process truth.
The following illustration is the perfect order of the trivium:

Grammar: The input of information
Grammar: The who, what, when, and where
Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO): used to express the idea that in computing mental and other spheres, incorrect or poor quality input will always produce faulty output.
Value in, value out (VIVO): used to express the idea that in computing mental and other spheres, correct or good quality input will always produce faultless output.
Grammar is the beginning. This is where you collect and absorb information. You’re not trying to understand it. Your job is to take it in. Your job as a gatherer includes deconstructing it in order to move into the next phase of the process.

You are what you think about, and you think about what you allow to enter your mind via grammar. Grammar is also known as input, and knowledge. Knowledge is mostly gathered through osmosis. Osmosis is the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, and behavior absorbed through environment. A person’s environment is primarily where his or her grammar will
