About this ebook
The Power of Lateral Thinking
Lateral thinking is one of those terms that many people have heard of, but probably very few of us really know what it means. "Lateral thinking is a phrase coined by Dr. Edward de Bono as a counterpoint to conventional or vertical thinking. In conventional thinking, we go forward in a predictable, direct fashion. Lateral thinking involves coming at the problem from new directions – literally, from the side."
Examining The Herd Mentality
In this book, we'll be discussing a few topics that all of us will face. Herd mentality, insecurity, and topics that are related to how we can " Think Outside The Box ". We'll talk about why and how people act the same way or adopt similar behaviors as the people around them — often ignoring their own feelings in the process.
We have been trained to listen to the constraints of the outside world, the social standards of the society and fail to use all of our resources to change even the smallest of circumstances in our lives. It is time to tackle problems in our life, from lack of space to starting a new career on a small budget or even relationship problems.
What this book proposes at a surface level may not appear to make an impact in your life. But as you read and apply ideas from this book, you'll begin to understand how changing the way you view your circumstances can change how you approach all problems in your everyday life.

Reviews for Lateral Thinking

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book is short but having precise perspective for creative thinking
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'm a very lateral thinker. It surprises my friends and coworkers. They are mostly vertical oriented. As a carpenter there are thing people have been doing for hundreds of years that I think are ineffective and a waste of energy so I come up with new ways to do thing all the time!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this book! Lateral thinking is very interesting for brainstorming. That’s for sure. The difficulty is when you have to deal with people who want quick and “reliable answers... This is the dilemma I’m currently facing.... As far as I remember, I have always thought lateral and I’ve always gotten a hard time dealing with the more common way of thinking
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the book for those of you who lough straight ahead on a path that is always very flat, very well-paved, very unbending, very sunny and well-ventilated. Shifting a foot to the side and letting your imagination follow will put you into another climate (moonlight instead of sunlight, curving paths with rocks, etc.). The author is upbeat and friendly, so following his lead can surprise you.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love the concepts and lessons included in this book. I always reference this book to help me come up with lessons for the classes and facilitate. I use it mostly to encourage my class to think differently than the way they usually do.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book really looks at the process of design thinking and help you look at different ways that you can get around a design wall. Great read!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Nice book to boost your mental power. This is the only book about creativity that you'll ever need.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have given this ebook as a gift to multiple friends. I truly believe that all people can be creative, they just need the right conditions and to believe in themselves.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Introduces one with a way to think creatively avoiding bottlenecks and lack of traditional thinking. Useful for brainstorming sessions and finding workaround in violent situations. It's just an exciting book that got confused during a move several years ago. Now I'm allowed to pick up where I left off. Thank you.

Introduction

Living in a modern society is not easy. Maybe we sometimes look back at the people that lived way before us in the age where no technology existed and we tend to feel sorry for them because we think it was much harder living back then, but trust me, they had one thing that is much more valuable than technology or anything else that we have in the modern age. It is the peace of mind. And what does peace of mind help us with? The most important thing that humans were created to do. Thinking correctly, freely and without the influence of others. Unlike people today, they didn’t have any worry about what others thought about them and they certainly did not do things against their will just so they can feel like they fit in. They lived their lives freely and the way they wanted. The only way life is meant to be lived.
Before I begin, I want you to read and give a completely honest answer to all of my following questions.
Do you maybe sometimes feel like you’re doing something against your will or making a certain decision without really being
