Every love story is filled with memories that touch our hearts, and in this case, make us chuckle. The Mystic Wolves pack has many traditions. None more beloved than baking cookies and treats to leave for Santa Claus. Unfortunately, Darcy is a bit of a klutz when it comes to navigating her way around the kitchen. Even with the help and encouragement of her best friend, Jasmine, there’s a real chance she’ll ruin the brownies she’s baking to surprise Mason. Don’t miss out on this funny short where the true message of Christmas isn’t buried in cocoa, butter, and delicious frosting, but in the magic that comes with spending the holidays with family and friends.

O, HOLY NIGHT
A Mystic Wolves Novella

Each year during the Yuletide season, the Vampire king hosts a party to celebrate another successful year of peace and friendship. In this Mystic Wolves novella, Mason and Darcy join with their supernatural friends and colleagues to enjoy a magical evening of great food and company at Zane’s home. However, the peace they all cherish is threatened when three small children are discovered missing—one Fae and the other two are witches. With the whole party erupting into chaos and the different factions hurling accusations at one another, it’s up to Mason, Darcy, and their friends, to find the younglings before all hope of preventing war is lost.

BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE
A Damaged Souls Novelette

All’s fair in love and war . . . or at least that’s the sentiment Caylee first feels when her roommate, Rebecca, enlists her help in a snowball fight. As the battle unfolds, some truths can no longer be kept secret. At least, that’s what Caylee reminds herself while she enjoys her first Christmas with the man who stole her heart. In this sexy novelette, discover the surprise gift for Cooper that Caylee hid among the presents under the Christmas tree, and why this will be a year neither of them will ever forget.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU

    A Mystic Wolves Short

    Christmas Eve, 2009

    Darcy

The delicious scent of something baking hit me the second I walked through the door. Even though I knew what to expect, my stomach still rumbled its hunger and need to be fed.

There were many perks to being a werewolf—speed, power, strength—and having Mason in my life was incredible. Dating the Alpha of the Mystic Wolves pack had definite advantages, and I followed my nose to the source of one in particular . . . Jasmine.

Mason’s sister and my best friend was like Betty Crocker, Paula Deen, and Martha Stewart, all rolled into one.

Me, on the other hand? Well, there was a running joke there was to be a fire extinguisher be close by if I was in the kitchen. Mason laughed and thought it made me even more adorable, but it made the likelihood of me cooking him any cute treats a big fat no.

That’s why I was here today. After grumbling to Jasmine about wanting to do something special for her brother, she’d winked and offered to help. While I turned even the simplest recipe into a disastrous mess of epic proportions, she made it all seem easy. I’d yet to see her create something inedible.

I just hoped she didn’t live to regret it. Sometimes a lost cause truly was a lost cause.

Standing in the doorway, doubts plagued me again. It was one thing to destroy my own kitchen—I was pretty sure I’d never see my security deposit whenever I decided to move out—but the Pack’s kitchen was a thing of beauty. Immaculate, with all kind of cool gadgets gracing the granite counter tops.

Jasmine already had our project well underway. I stopped and took a huge sniff, appreciatively humming and grinned at the cute pink apron protecting her clothes. She looked over her shoulder and smiled.

It’s about time you showed up. I thought you’d chickened out and ditched me. Dusting off her hands, a slight cloud of flour sprinkled to the floor. She gave me a quick hug before pointing to the dining table. Grab your apron and help me.

Lifting up the blue smock, I tried not to groan when I saw the decorative frills around the apron. Seriously? I wrinkled my nose in distaste. You don’t have anything less . . . girly? I fingered the lace skeptically. Does it have magical powers or something? The more lace, the greater the chance of success?

Jasmine cocked a brow and chuckled. Quit it, Darcy. You can’t be that bad.

I beg to differ. Are you forgetting what happened the last time I was in charge of dinner? Her eyes widened with merriment and she bit her lips trying to hide her smile, which told me she hadn’t. It had been a complete fiasco. Nothing had gone right—the roast resembled a tough piece of leather, the banana pudding I’d slaved over for dessert had congealed into a disgusting lumpy sludge, and I was pretty sure the bread could’ve been used as a brick. Bless Mason’s heart, he actually tried to eat everything, but with each mouthful I could tell he was reluctant to swallow. With tears in his eyes, he’d sweetly smiled and made groans of appreciation. After the fourth moan, I’d begged him to stop.

How about you do all the baking and we’ll just say I helped. I’m pretty good at supervising, you know, I offered weakly.

Nope, this is going to be a team effort; and despite your past efforts, I’m determined to make a chef out of you yet. She moved aside, making room for me beside her. Now, we’re going to start with something basic.

    Boiling water? I asked, hopefully.

Jasmine raised her spatula threateningly. No, brownies.

I stared down at the large mixing bowl on the countertop and glanced at the recipe. There were only a few ingredients, so I pushed away the niggling doubt that even this might be beyond my reach, straightened my shoulders and bounced on my toes. Okay, teach me, Master. I am your ever-willing student. Bumping her with my hip, she softly laughed and rolled her eyes.

"Mason loves these. One time—he had to have been around eight or nine—mother told him he had to wait until after dinner to have any. But, like the pig he’s always been, he snuck into the kitchen and stole an entire pan. He was so proud of himself, thinking he’d gotten away with it. Stupid kid devoured the entire thing and then wondered why he had a stomachache. Our mother had the last laugh, though.
