    Linda Byler grew up Amish and is an active member of the Amish church today.       This is three novels in one. Since I finished reading the Kraybill book on the Amish, I thought I would read a set of novels actually written by an Amish author. (Byler is referenced in Kraybill's book, so I know she is authentic Amish.) The books are ok. I feel like the target audience is more teenager/middle school age rather than adult. I was bothered by the fact that Lizzie never did really grow up, even when she was a married mother. Her attitude and actions always seemed simple and child-like. I do not think this is a reflection on the culture but rather a reflection on the author's writing style. This is a story for enjoyment; there isn't a preachy message like so many of the "bonnet fiction" novels have. It was interesting, but I don't think I will ever reread it.
