Reviews for Disappearances

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Written in Amish style, the ramblings of Sadie and her family show a real life look at marriage. Things aren't all easy and fixable.
The author presented a refreshing change to the current books of all love and live happily ever after once marriage comes.
Although book 3 in the series, and I had only read the first (a long time ago), this book could stand on its on. It provided enough flashbacks to allow explanation, without making it tedious for the history lesson.
I did skimmed over the many details of all the dinner spread, and other lengthy descriptions.
At times there were bouncing from point of views and I had to back track to see who this scene presented. This effected the smoothness of the read.
Overall I appreciated the realistic view that marriage is work and must be entered with that in mind. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed reading about the Amish lifestyle and marriage. I found it interesting to learn something about how the Amish live and worship. Of course, the Amish have the same feelings that anyone else does; however, they do seem to control emotions more than the English, as they say.
