      Chapter 1

      For many people, living in this world feels like living behind enemy lines. We live in hostile territory, every day we wake up to battle and fight. We fight to survive, fight to eat, fight disease, and unfortunately, sometimes fight other people. Life often makes us feel as if we are living as sheep among wolves.

      It is with this backdrop that I find it interesting that Jesus chose to describe

      His sending out of the twelve disciples, his followers, as sheep in the midst of wolves.

      Why

      If he was trying to motivate them go out, he picked a poor mascot. If I didn’t know him better, I would say his motivation skills leave a lot to be desired. Fortunately, I do know better, the truth is that Jesus is the wisest, most caring motivator that has ever existed.

      Why did Jesus send out his followers as sheep in the midst of wolves?

      So, what did the master teacher really want to teach us when he

      picked this parable? Sheep among wolves. Why do we have to belong to team sheep?

      What do sheep have? What makes them the winners? What advantage do sheep have over wolves? This question plagued me for months and so finally in this book I share with you the answers I have found.

      Let’s delve in as we consider the wolves. Their big grey eyes are equipped with night vision that can spot prey accurately in the darkness of night. Think about their heightened sense of smell that can track a scent that has travelled for days, and rugged fury leathery coats, tough enough to withstand the scratches and bites of insects in the forest. The wolf’s legs are a running and jumping wonder, that make it easy to navigate a terrain.
