    Magically Delicious

    November 23rd,

I’m just taking the ham out of the fridge to marinate when I hear the front door open and Eric’s voice say something about a bloody leprechaun. Then I hear Houston mutter something about keeping his voice down and it occurs to me they may be talking about an actual leprechaun.

I exit the kitchen and catch the two of them trying to creep up the stairs with a crate covered with a blanket.

Go hifreann leat! I hear from the crate.

I can explain! says Houston as he abruptly stops on the stairs, causing Eric to push the crate against him.

Má ithis, nar chacair! screams the voice from the crate.

Watch your mouth, Mate! There’s a lady in the room! says Eric.

Go n-ithe an cat thú is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat.

Nancy, I know this looks bad...

I hold up my hand to silence him, then point for them to put the crate on the floor. I gesture with two fingers for them to remove the blanket.

Nancy, there is really a good explanation for this...

I cross my arms in front of me. Houston removes the blanket. Inside the crate is a two-foot tall figure wearing a red coat with silver buttons, white pants, red shoes with silver buckles, and a crushes red hat that would probably end in a point were it not shoved inside the crate.

Why are you sneaking a leprechaun in my house the day before Thanksgiving?

Most beauteous lady! says the leprechaun as he removes his hat and holds
