Your Choice Shapes Your Destiny - Rudolf Isaac Monyela

    Dedications

My life, thoughts and emotional encyclopaedia will perish dismally if the following people are omitted in this poetry book.

My mother Lydia Nellie Monyela for keeping me in whatever episodes of melancholy she endured. Thomas Tolo‘Motocks ‘Nkuna for inspiring me on the soccer field. Can soccer produce a poet? Anyone can try to find the answer for him or herself.

To Mzwakhe Israel ‘The People's Poet’ Mbuli, no one on earth can substitute my love for you. They can speak, illustrate, preach but no words can hold water far more than yours MZ. Thank you God for the love you created him for me, my family and people around me. Uluta!

Pain is yet temporary, Ngaphesheya, Pitoli where our lives are run, from birth certificate to death certificate. Tenacity of human spirit triumphs. God’s delay is not equivalent to a denial, what doesn’t kill you strengthens you,’ Mzwakhe Mbuli said.

TQ (Tshwarelo Queen Tlometsane) – thanks darling for the courageous role you have played in my life, especially during the quandary times. You were a special mirror to reflect on.

    Introduction

Words, imagination, visualisation, creativity and emotions accompanied by vessels of thoughts heal and relieve aggrieved souls and minds. Poetry seems to be a substitute and has less value compared to another sectors, but it is worth far more than the stereotype and imaginations. Poetry eases the pain one might encounter in life. Creative writing is more profound and worth the value, and has played a pivotal and essential role since its inception. This book has been a great transition from the first book titled In Life Success Does Not Come From A Vacuum, and has played a great role in the lives of those who have already had it.

The book sees diversity of thoughts and regards it as a paramount vessel to convey the message and emotions to the society out there. As this book comprises various poems from ‘Prof the Poet’ mentees, it makes this book ‘YOUR CHOICE SHAPES YOUR DESTINY’ profound and rich in message and experience. This is a great anthology to have. A few poems will be outlined thereto:

    1. HAVE YOU BEEN?

    ■ Almighty will leave or forsake you. You have a friend in Jesus! Have you ever fallen in love with someone you can’t be with? Like a lily among thorns. By Mathilda Shalate Nkhwasho.

    2. IS HE MINE?

    ■ Who is he though? Who sent him? How did he find me? Is he mine? If he is not mine, why is he with me? By Mathilda Shalate Nkhwasho.

    3. JESUS

All that belongs to me can vanish

All my plans can fail and evaporate

All my heart yearns and fails to acquire

    Can also surface not

I will sing and glorify your prestigious name

I will be indebted in your kingdom

As your chief servant. By ‘Prof the Poet’

    4. WHO SAID?

Who said life is going to be smooth?

Who said life is moving like a river?

Who said life is more genuine like a sip of a soft drink?

Who said life is as easy as we thought and envisaged?

Who said Jesus Christ’s life was easy and soothing?

Who said Abraham’s life was as easy as he imagined?

His wife Sarai advocated that, it was not an easy path

In Genesis 16 verse 1-5 is where the cabinet of this poem treasured. By ‘Prof the Poet’

    When My Life

    When my life

    When my health

    When my future

    When my destination

When my legacy and brand are tarnished due to barbaric positions

    When pretenders changed to zebras

When your close people changed like the waves of the ocean

When they change from good colleagues to detractors and chameleons

When Mantlebene denied labour relation privilege rights.

When my colleagues turn to be my foes

When my fellow staff members turn to be my enemies

Due to posts and barbaric caucuses about my health

Because I am not their favourite

Because I am not familiar with their corruption and nepotism.

I am a wheelbarrow to carry the services for them

I am the vehicle to convey the goods for them

To attain their personal profit syndrome

    My life is valueless

My health is more useless than their positions

When I gave examples about their allies and concubines

They said I am out of terrain

When their allies and concubines took illegal leave

    They
