    ONLY ONE PERFORMANCE, IN 8 PHILIPUCKI ST.

    Only one performance! Today at 8 P.M. in 8 Philipucki Street, apartment 34, a dramatic family piece, complete with an acrimonious scandal, shouting, slapping, hysteria, smashing of dishes, and a child caught in the middle of a tug-of-war!

    Well, well, I thought, looking at the ad I noticed on a corner near my house, Proper theatre right at home. Soon we won't even have to attend those big old buildings, with the performance delivered straight to the door.

    And so it was. At my apartment block I saw a copy of the ad and realized the performance is indeed held in the very same house. As I passed by apartment number 34, I stopped to listen.

    Sounds reminiscent of sawing firewood were clearly audible. They're dividing up the furniture, I guessed, and decided to have a brief look. I pushed the door. It promptly swung open.

    A dude I never saw before, dressed as a warder or impresario, appeared in the door and pressed a finger to his lips.

    Sh-h, quiet please. Can I help you, Sir?

    Um, I was somewhat baffled, The ad... The performance...

    I am sorry, Sir, the dude shook his head, but you are late for the start.

    And?..

    My apologies, Sir, he quietly closed the door right in my face.

    Not that I cared, I thought to myself and continued up the stairs.

    A few days went by and I nearly forgot about the strange event. Then, walking down the street one evening, I noticed a new ad on the corner:

    "Only one performance! Today at 8 P.M. in 8 Philipucki Street, apartment 37, a comedy piece involving a sudden arrival of rural relatives, complete
