About this ebook

Darin wants Jade. It’s as simple as that, but she won’t take him seriously. Now they are sent on a colonization mission that will use all their talents and maybe she’ll see that he’s a mature warrior. He’s waited long enough and it’s time to show her the amazing chemistry that lies between them waiting to be released.
Jade feels bad, okay, not really. Darin is handsome and he’s got the body of a warrior, but when she compares him to some of the others, he doesn’t seem ready to be a mate. Others tell her it’s his sense of humor and when they’re old, she’ll be thankful for it. She’s just not sure and that means he’ll have to wait. How long is anyone’s guess.

Crystal Dawn

When she’s not out hunting rogue vampires and werewolves, you can find Crystal Dawn out exploring the galaxy. She can do it all without ever leaving her computer. She kicks ass, takes names, and puts it all down for the enjoyment of her readers. At least that’s what I think she told me. Writing came as a natural outlet for her overly creative mind. She has always told stories and even written some but publishing books didn't start until 2012 with The Rebirth, was the first of the Planet Amazon books. Crystal has also been lucky to have some wonderful beta readers who keep her on track and help inspire her.Secretly, she crushes on all her sexy heroes because all her stories end happily. That is one of the things that makes writing such a joy. Knowing that it makes her reader's day a little brighter. Not that she doesn't read sad books sometimes. While still in school, she read Where the Red Fern Grows and cried like a baby. It was a wonderful book and sometimes a bit of sadness has to be put in books because that's part of life. While she reads all kinds of books at some time or another, PNR and SFR, which she writes is what she reads the most for pleasure. When she started writing, she decided on going Indie after the first two books because an author has more control. She believes Indie will compete well and continues to grow. The need to give pleasure to her readers keeps her going and she sees a long career ahead. Growing up mostly in the NW Arkansas area, it has given her a good place to set some stories and many of her characters come from there or nearby SW Missouri. The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out. She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.

    Chieftains of the Majuri

    Book 1

    Chief Radvar

Sucked through an anomaly that took them far away through time and space, Chief Radvar and his crew are completely lost, but not alone. Their ancient enemy, the Dramites, on a ship they’d been chasing were pulled through along with them.

With no choice, but to find a planet to resupply on, they were moving further away from the place the anomaly had spit them out. Trying to figure out where they were, a scientist suggest the area looks like a description of the way to Earth.

Radvar is annoyed. Now they are trying to feed him fairy tales rather than to just admit they are clueless. The problem is a blue and white marble appears below them and its people call it Earth. Is the name lost in translation or are all the old legends true?

He will get his people back home or he will build a new life for them. And this Earth? They will supply whatever he needs because he isn’t the Chief without good reason.

    Book 2

    Junior

Talai wasn’t angry, she was furious. It was true they’d made no commitment to each other, but their relationship had been building toward something. She was sure of it until she had walked into the emergency shelter and seen that female in his arms. It was a sight difficult to forget and goddess knows she’d tried. Maybe she was just meant to be alone and help others with their children.

He was innocent and he’d been wrongly convicted in the court of unfortunate circumstances. Talai refused to talk to him much less explain what had happened. That female had taken it upon herself to offer something he didn’t want and now he was suffering for it. As much as he hated to admit it, Shay was right, and he should have taken Talai the day he’d met her.

Was there any way things could ever work out between these two stubborn people? It would be a hard journey but if they would both open their hearts, anything was possible.

    Prologue

He’d known immediately that she was his. There’d been no doubts that in time she would be his. Now he had to admit he needed help. Why she thought him too immature to mate was anyone’s guess. Maybe she compared him to Radvar? She might believe being a leader was glamorous, but she wouldn’t like it as much as she thought.

The pressure even at the level he was as a sub chief could be a lot at times. He’d always been glad not to be overburdened as Radvar often was. His place was to make everything as easy as possible on his beloved brother by handling whatever he was asked to in the best possible way without having to call his brother and King in. This was enough to handle and even he felt the stress of his position at times. What did Jade want? Did she even know herself?

She wasn’t sure what she expected. It wasn’t like she’d wanted Radvar, nor did she want the stress Shay had in her everyday life. Being leader at a lesser level was fine with her and more than enough trouble. Maybe she did equate his easy going, funny lifestyle as being less than mature. Time would tell if she could give him understanding and finally let him into her heart or not.

    Chapter 1

    New Experiences

He looked around the throne room where they would eat breakfast and hear about the mission to Ice. It seemed a large group had gathered, mostly family. Shay’s was all there and all Radvar’s top males. Some, like Dervac and Calden had their females with them.

Radvar was there with Shay sitting next to him and their two boys, Ronnie and Jonnie, who they’d adopted from Earth along with their little sister Connie, sat next to Shay. Connie wasn’t there because she was napping. No surprise at her young age.

Only the boys were old enough to take care of themselves and they were preteen. Radvar had them in training as junior warriors. His in-laws taught the youngsters in an informal academy. His mother-in-law did academics and taught the little ones that were too young for the academy self-defense. His father-in-law taught military subjects and fighting, with the help of other warriors when they were available.

If anything, it was the children that benefitted the most from being claimed as Majuri. All of the preteen orphans taken from Earth had been adopted and the older children each had a mentor and a hosting family. The boys looked as healthy and happy as kids could look. They did look a little bored and Radvar noticed. Why don’t you two check on the little ones for me?

The boy’s chests puffed out and they stood up tall and proud. Yes, Sir. They hollered as they ran to the back of the palace. It was amazing to him that they now had five kids, two which were infants and one a toddler.

He’d hoped to have at least one child by now but no such luck. He wouldn’t mind having some kids like them. His thought was Jade would like it too if they ever mated. There would probably be more kids coming to Jaded soon, but it would be too soon for them.

They are great boys. I think they will be junior officers soon. We will miss them at home. Radvar said. Shay pressed her lips into a firm line. It didn’t look like they agreed on that. Tell me about the mission to Ice.

Junior began to describe how the mountain looked when they first arrived. Do you think it was previously mined or dug out?

It was so uniform, it almost had to have been. Talai answered.

I heard from Gugor, he was impressed with what your team accomplished. Radvar admitted.

We all worked hard. Junior explained.

    Except Daniel. Radvar observed.

He was sent in to steal tech by a large company on Earth. He wanted to use Talai to get close to your family. When that didn’t work, he tried to kill her. Junior pointed out.

He’ll be going back soon. I want to get the colony on Hasham started. Jade and Darin will be co-leading the mission. She will handle the diplomatic duties and he will establish housing, food, and safe water. He’s worked beside me here and I feel he can handle it.

He wondered what diplomatic duties Jade had covered and hoped Radvar would outline their areas clearly. That way he wouldn’t have to fight her every step of the way. It was nice he’d not surprised them with this. Radvar had informed them earlier. What was the surprise was when Jade hadn’t protested. Maybe he meant so little to her she didn’t care if he was around or not. That thought hurt.

Shay and I will be going on the trip to Earth as will Jade and Darin. Anyone else who wishes to go needs to get the request in and have their work handled while they’re gone. Anyone who needs something picked up there, also needs to put in a request. Shay will be handling the shopping. Dervac will take requests to accompany us.

The surprise was Radvar was learning to delegate more, and he was sure Shay had a lot to do with that. Now nearly a week later, he was starting to get his things in order. Since he was an avid hunter and fisher, he had items to trade with. Horns, claws, furs and skins from several creatures would all trade well. He had a goal, he wanted Jade to marry him in the human style.

To accomplish this, he wanted to buy her a ring that would make a human female proud to wear. Shay had said her twin was partial to jade. She’d also agreed to help him pick out the perfect ring. Maybe seeing how hard he tried to please her would make a difference. If this didn’t do it, he had no idea what else to do.

He had all his affairs in order with others dealing with his former duties. Looking for more goods to trade, he’d found some minerals that paid well on Earth. It wasn’t just the ring he needed, he wanted a bike too and some other things for the home he’d started to build in one of the nearby mountains for Jade and him.

Shay seemed sure that Jade would give in eventually. He still remembered the conversation they’d had. I’ll let you in on a little secret. Out of all of my family, Jade is the most stubborn. But once she gives in, you’ll have the best mate in the world.

If she’s more stubborn than Junior, I’m not sure I’ll survive long enough. Shay giggled, but he meant it.

This morning there was a hunt. All those going along were there and Radvar was in charge. It seemed he and Shay were getting more trade goods and training their young boys. The twins looked beyond excited. They had gone on a fishing trip yesterday, but that was old news for them. They’d began fishing as soon as they’d arrived on Jaded. Young males began fishing as toddlers under strict supervision at that age, of course.

Several younger males and a couple females were along for this trip. Each had a young officer attached to them to see to their safety although all the hunters on the trip were aware of them and would assist if needed. A first hunt was a big thing for any young. It would be exciting to watch and see how they did.

His heartbeat sped up and he was ready to go. Radvar made hand signals to let them all know it was time to go. He drove off followed by Shay and the other higher-ranking people except for Dervac and Hannah who went last to safeguard the rear of the group. The younger members were in the center with a few experienced warriors mixed in. Those that had hunted many times before were toward the rear.

They would go to their hunting grounds then make camp. It was a surprise that Jade wasn’t on this hunt. Maybe she was still preparing for the trip. Or she might be enjoying the time away from him if she knew he was on the hunt. He needed to stop this line of thinking since it depressed him. Today was all about relaxing, enjoying himself, and grabbing a few more trade goods to get the things he needed.

Just a week and he’d be back on the ship headed toward Earth. This trip was all about preparing for an indefinite stay on a new planet, Hasham. This
