Eventful War

About this ebook
This is Nick's new anti war poetry collection about World War Two. A very varied collection of work in several different poem styles like verse, rhyme and Haiku. There are poems on the machines of war like the Hurricane fighter, on the bomber plane, on U-Boats, and tanks. The men who did the fighting and those who sent them off to war are covered. Why would two brothers fight one another on opposing sides? Works also covers equipping the men for war, on the historical aspects of the battles, on spoofing the enemy, about the weapons like the bayonet, bullet types, guns and rape as a weapon of war. The poems are intended to make the reader think. What is war? The work here covers opposing sides and much much more. A second volume will follow in future.

Introduction
This ebook volume is new work by writer Nick Armbrister. Nick is best known for his anti war work as seen here (and also with writer Andy N), alternative poems and erotic short stories. As a writer and individual Nick has strong views on war matters and has worked on a number of books and pieces of writing/projects covering them.
Nick brings a uniquely English/British view to his work which is both varied in style and topic and goes well together.
This collection is meant to educate people on issues from World War 2 and encourage them to do further research on this interesting yet tragic time of human history. Let the lessons not be forgotten by our current generation and the world leaders and politicians. The innocent civilians and military service people suffer from your military adventures and quest for glory and empire.
Poems
World War Two
World War Two was a big fight
Darkness versus light
Clashes of gigantic might
Gunfire twinkling bright
Death in plain sight
You cower with fright
Screams through the night
Telling you nothing is right
You are in dire plight
The chance of survival is slight
Desert Fox
The Western Desert war was a special one in a backwater where little happened
That was till the British army clashed with the Africa Korps in a fight for the sand
For control of this gave reach into the Mediterranean where shipping could be bombed
And further east was the Persian Gulf oil fields which gave ample fuel for a war machine
The Desert Fox Erwin Rommel faced off Montgomery in a battle of wits and skill in combat
Allied soldiers died in their hundreds as they faced a superior opponent
Battles were immortalised with names like Tobruk and El-Alamein
Up above the Desert Air Force fought off continual Luftwaffe air attacks
The pilots were brave and some became aces
