Introducing Nine Perfect Strangers
NINE PERFECT STRANGERS IS A NOVEL WRITTEN by Liane Moriarty. It is a story of connections and bonding amid human failings and frailties. Nine people arrive at a health spa resort, Tranquillum. They have different reasons to be there but all face health and life issues that they hopefully want to be resolved at the resort. Some of them have weight problems, while others have family and relationship problems. They all have their own emotional wounds, are unhappy with themselves, or trying to avoid making important life decisions. It seems though that they don't have anything in common. They did not anticipate a resort regimen that is strict and demanding, but their guru wants nothing less from them. The resort staff manipulates them into strange situations which make the nine strangers react and make assumptions about the others. The first five days are devoted to a vow of silence. Soon they start to have opinions of one another and bonds are forged. Their actions and reactions toward one another reveal their vulnerabilities and insecurities. Their guru has her weird ways but the nine resort guests have their own transformations by the end of their stay. They create close bonds that change them for the
