The Story of Arthur Truluv is a novel written by Elizabeth Berg. It is a story of hope, friendship, love, family, and second chances. Arthur Moses is in his 80s and spends most of his days in the cemetery, visiting his late wife. Lucille, also in her 80's, is Arthur's neighbor. She is friendly to Arthur but Arthur tries to stay out of her way if he can. She has remained alone all her life because the man she loves married somebody else. Now the man is back, trying to make amends for the lost time and the heartache he caused her. Maddy is 18 years old and does not understand why her high school classmates do not like her. Her father blames her for her mother's death which happened sometime after she was born. He has treated her coldly throughout her young life. To escape the cold treatment from her father and the bullying in school, she spends time in the cemetery, liking the time she is all by herself. She sees Arthur there talking to his dead wife as if she were alive. Arthur tells
