About this ebook
I, Robert Smart, had given my girlfriend Sara Dean two cruise tickets, One for herself and one for a lady friend. This turned out to be a great mistake, as Sara gave the second ticket to a man, Alex Rich.
It turned out, that Robert's boss, Burt Knight was into magic, and wanted Robert to learn what he knew himself. Burt let Robert borrow his book about magic. Robert loved the book and learned a lot about magic. Then Burt introduced Robert to a witch named Elvira, and a second witch named Lorna.

It was one of those cold, dark, and dreary day, the fifth of these revolting days in a row. Not too many people were out exercising because of the damp weather. It was expecting to start raining at any time; the air was filled with moisture. But, for some reason the rain didn’t show up, only this disgusting humidity.
It was getting close to one of the many holidays we have throughout the year. And I have to confess that I hadn't been thinking about my girlfriend Sara, this time, as far as gifts were concerned. Could be because of the gloomy weather, who knows why I had forgotten her? So, the fact that she started to whine about my own aloofness to her. I had to agree, even if it wasn’t a reason for a large domestic skirmish, this time she did have some reasons to be upset as I had been buying gifts for my and her parents, quite good once, but nothing for her, my girlfriend for some years now, Sara Dean. However, it was definitely not a reason for this exaggerated display of emotion she started as she turned at me with an angry face and clear hate in her eyes.
However, my friends, I took care of the problem.
Unfortunately, the wrong way I later found out. I did offer her a cruise trip for two, fully paid for of course. One for herself, and one for a girlfriend she would like to bring with her on this cruise. And she also had her own choice of this cruise destination.
By the way my friends, my name is Robert Smart, and I am in my own opinion a good looking blond and blue-eyed man, and only thirty-six years old. As we at this time of the year were extremely busy at work, it was not possible for me to join her on this cruise trip. However, as I had promised a trip for two, she didn’t sound too upset about traveling on this cruise without me. Then, later in the day, she told me she had decided who her traveling companion will be.
Sara, loved to go on this cruise, and she asked me if it would upset me if she included a good friend from work to go with her on the cruise. His name is Alex Rich, she now told me. As I hadn’t heard about that name at any earlier occasion, I carefully asked how she knew this Alex Rich. However, as part of my gift to her included a friend of her own choice, I couldn’t really say anything or complain about her choice of travel partner, could I? Although I had mentioned that she could bring a girlfriend, originally.
Well Sara,
I said while looking confused at her. I did have a lady friend from your work in mind when I offered you the two cruise tickets. How would our many friends be looking at the fact that you are traveling with another man, and you are choosing this man as your travel partner? When every single one among our friends knows Sara, that we are engaged to be married?
She didn’t answer straight to that question, however, she only said. Oh. Yeah, that's right Robert, you have never met Alex Rich, have you? And Robert you don’t trust me with a male friend as a travel partner?
she asked with an odd smile I hadn’t seen before.
It is not a question of me trusting you or not Sara. Would you trust me if I made this cruise myself with another girl, or another woman?
Why should you travel with another woman, when we are engaged?
She asked not able to understand the similarity of the situation.
That would be the same as what you are doing right now.
I said, You are going on this cruise with another man, although we are engaged, or if I go with another woman. What would be the difference? And, what are our friends going to say?
No, Sara, as I said earlier, I would definitely have preferred a lady friend. However, you haven't introduced me to this Alex Rich, yet. Where by the way did you meet this man, this Alex Rich, your companion for the cruise trip?
I met him at work of course.
She said now in a nice way. He is my boss Donald Rich’s son, and in less than a year, Alex will be taking over the entire company. He has taken all the university diplomas he needed to get the education that was necessary for this important work place. And Robert he has already told me that I will to be his personal secretary once the company belongs to him. Isn't that wonderful Robert? Think of it, me, Sara Dean, as the personal assistance to the big boss. Doesn’t that sound terrific?
Sounds good enough, however, Sara, I would very much like to meet your new boss to be, this Alex Rich. Is that possible? And Sara, can a meeting with him be arranged in some way, before the cruise trip?
I asked feeling something bizarre inside of me, something totally new, could it be that I was jealous? I thought.
Yes, Robert, of course you can meet Alex,
she said, when we take this cruise trip, that you have promised me, and paid for. You have to help me with my suitcases, and as Alex Rich will be there with me for the entire cruise, you will be able to look at him, maybe even have a small chat with him. Would that be good enough as an introduction for you Robert?
So, as I understand it, this Alex Rich is not man enough to help you with your luggage himself, so I have to take half a day of work to help you with your luggage?
I said in a demeaning voice. Then I added Yeah, I suppose I can do that if this Alex isn’t man enough to help you with your own luggage.
But there was something that didn’t add up. I couldn’t put my finger on it right away, but something was wrong, very wrong, I could feel it somewhere deep in my chest.
When the day for the cruise trip arrived, it was a Friday, and as I told you earlier, I had to take half a day of at work to help Sara with her luggage as this Alex Rich she had invited as a travel companion only took care of his own luggage, didn’t even look at Sara’s. The man she was traveling with, this Alex Rich, is about the same age as myself. However, he would get the main acting roll with any movie-studio. Even if I had to say
