    Preface

There is life beyond, a much higher form of life than on earth. God wills to bring humankind to where we were intended to be before the Fall. You are able to verify this with evidence that there is a creator. The choice given to us by free will determines our destination for eternal life.

In places, scripture is revised for clearer understanding according to the Strong’s Concordance of the Bible. This is indicated by the word paraphrased. Italics represent words or phrases meant to be meditated on.

This is a sound book for home study and distribution.

Jesus listens to everything we say.

Believe we are standing before Jesus.

He died for our sins and by

we release them into His hands.

    We no longer have them.

    Our relationship with Jesus

    It continues to grow.

    Chapter One

    Introduction to Salvation

When God created male and female, they were created to live forever (Genesis 1:27). But, Satan deceived Adam and Eve, which enabled sin to enter the world. In Genesis, we read that Satan existed, but didn’t have any power over the earth and all that was in it. That was until on the sixth day of creation, when God created humans. Satan then had a vessel (a person) to work through to gain control over what God created.

When God created Adam and Eve, He put Adam in charge:

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

    —Genesis 2:16–17

Knowing this, Satan had a door to attack through to gain control over humankind. So he made his move and approached Eve, saying, "Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:4–5).

Satan set a trap for Eve to disobey what God had asked of her and Adam. Their disobedience toward God introduced sin and destruction into the world we live in. To this present day, we continue to experience evil through being disobedient to God. Satan continues to use our disobedience to attack and deceive us because he wants to separate us from God.

However God made a way to restore humankind back to Himself. He sent his son Jesus, a divine being, to redeem us in order that we might have eternal life. When the virgin Mary was expecting Jesus, an angel appeared to Joseph and said to him, "...fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:20–21). It is through Jesus that our relationship with God is restored, just like it was meant to be in the beginning of creation.

Once we commit ourselves to Jesus, something happens to us—our Father opens our eyes to see and our minds to understand. We become more aware of the spirit world around us.

We are spiritual beings living in a spiritual world. God is Spirit and His angels are ministering spirits. Satan is a spirit and the fallen angels are tormenting spirits. We are protected and comforted by the Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell in us when we ask Christ into our lives. Before we made a commitment to God we were like children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2), but when we ask Jesus to be our Lord, His spirit begins to work in us—cleansing, regenerating, purifying, and renewing a right relationship with Him (Titus 3:5). When we leave this world, our spirit—the spirit which made us talk, think—lives on forever in heaven to be with the One who created us.

How can we know heaven is a real place? How can we understand this to be true? How can we receive evidence that there is eternal spiritual life after our physical death? The following chapter on prayer will explain how we enter into the Lord’s presence through His prayer.
