About this series

From Orphan to Queen is the sixth book in The Crown Series and it’s all about a Jewish girl named Hadassah. This Bible heroine, who we know as Esther, lived at the time when God’s judgment had come down on the nation of Israel and its people had been taken into captivity by the Persian Empire. When Esther was a young teenager, she was taken from her family and forced into a beauty pageant, and then chosen to be queen to the cruelest and most brutal man ever to reign.

It was during her early years as the queen that Esther learned the king had approved a decree set up by his evil governor to annihilate every single Jewish person in the land. But God had a plan to stop it, and Esther soon realized that she was part of God’s plan to save the Jewish nation. She knew God would protect her even when she put her life at risk because, in her heart, she knew that she’d been born for a time such as this.

This book is focused on biblical truth, highlighted with God’s power, and underlined with emotion. It’s also accented with a bit of humor as once again, Grandpa reads it to his grandson who is full of questions. It’s written in a storybook format to enable children, new believers and readers of every age to understand who Esther was and how God gave her the courage to save the nation of Israel.

There have been many books written on the life of Jesus and some of us might cringe at the thought of another one being published. But this book is different! You are going to love it! It’s written with simplicity and easy understanding so that you can enjoy the story and learn the truth about Jesus along the way! No big theologian explanations and no guesses by an author that doesn’t know the facts. I have studied the Bible intensely and written prayerfully so that the biblical events in this book are accurate and supported by Scripture—and I’ve used my imagination in its presentation so that you’ll enjoy the story as told by Grandpa. This story begins in the garden with Adam and Eve. I did this so that readers can make the connection between the promise of God to Eve, and the birth and death of Jesus our King. And again, it’s written so anyone can understand it so there won’t be any misunderstandings or confusion with the biblical truth. I started writing this book for children, but soon realized that teens, young adults, and new believers could also benefit from reading this book. In fact, anyone who doesn’t know the Bible or who is searching for the truth of who Jesus is will be blessed and will learn about our Lord. Sometimes new believers—and even old stubborn ones—don’t want to study or don’t know how to study the Bible, and they rely on others to teach them. So what better way to get them introduced to the truth than to give them a book that’s fun and easy to read, and explains it! This book is a story within a story as Grandpa reads it to his grandson who has a million questions—and as many obvious modern-day suggestions. This is my way of explaining the biblical truth about Jesus and helping readers learn that a compromised gospel or modern religion is not the same as good old-fashioned gospel truth. And it’s my way of keeping the readers in tune with God so they can learn to separate fact from fantasy. I believe this book will help readers understand the when’s and why’s and who’s of the Bible; the details that many don’t pursue on their own and that they need to know. Through it, readers will learn the reality of God and the love He has for us, and will hopefully go to the Bible and study it for themselves.

This is the second book in The Crown Series, and it's all about Joseph. Many Christians have read about the coat of many colors that his father made for him, or even about his abduction into the land of Egypt, but few know why God allowed this to happen. Not only did Joseph rise up to become one of the most powerful rules in Egypt, but he became the one who saved the land of Egypt from the world's most deadly famine—but even more importantly, Joseph was chosen by God to save the nation of Israel! Joseph is one of the most significant examples in the Old Testament of forgiveness! His brothers turned on him in hatred and sold him as a slave to be taken to Egypt where an even worse turn of events put him inside one of the cruelest prisons in Egypt for several years. Yet, when we read about his life, we can actually see how God worked through Joseph to teach us one of the greatest lessons we could ever learn—and that is the power of forgiveness. This book is based totally on Scripture and written with a bit of imagination to make this a perfect storybook for children, new believers and anyone who wants to learn the details of Joseph's life and how he saved Israel. As with every book in this series, Grandpa is reading the story to his grandson who asks all the questions that you'd want to ask.

From Prince to Prophet is the third book in The Crown Series, and it's about the life of Moses. Most of us know him as the one to whom God gave the Ten Commandments. But God also gave him responsibilities, authorities, and privileges that few men have ever been given. Moses was raised as royalty, educated to the highest standards, honored as a heroic soldier and elected to be heir to Pharaoh's throne. But God took Moses away from it all and put him in the wilderness where He prepared him for the greatest task of leadership this world has ever known. History is amazing because it teaches us what happened in the past that got us to where we are today. And Moses played a major role in the history of the Jewish nation, and every person who loves the Lord knows that Moses was part of God's divine plan for salvation! We learned in the previous book, From Slave to Hero, how God worked with Joseph to bring his family through the famine and give them a new temporary home in Goshen, which is in Egypt. This was the beginning of the Jewish nation—and they grew in number to become a large nation. But things changed over the years! When Joseph and the Pharaoh both died, the new Pharaohs that followed went back to hating the children of Jacob, who is also called Israel. So they were enslaved for almost 400 years, at which time they were in danger of being killed off so that there would be no more Israel. But God's timing is perfect! Moses was born and chosen by God to save the Israelite people. His job was hard, but he loved God and was obedient to Him. We can see the relationship that Moses shared with God and the power that God demonstrated to the people through him. This book touches on the highlights of the life of Moses, yet there is so much more in the Bible—details that will help you to see how God worked through this man to save the children He loved. I hope that this book will inspire you to dig into the Bible and learn everything about Moses. This will help you to better understand the history of the Jewish nation and the love that God has for them and for all those who love Him and are part of His family. As all the books in this series, this book is for readers of all ages who want to know God and understand His love for us. Each book focuses on a specific character, and each has an underlying message for the reader. The theme of this book is humility. Like the other books in The Crown Series, this one is being read by Grandpa to his grandson who is filled with the questions we all want to ask.

We are so privileged to be able to read the Bible and learn about the amazing men and women who loved God and gave their lives to lead, guide and sustain the Jewish nation. Some were great leaders, others were mighty warriors on the battlefield, and some were mighty warriors on their knees. And one of these heroes is Daniel. Most Christians know that Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions, but few know why Daniel didn’t get eaten. Daniel’s life was not an easy one; in fact, he suffered many hardships that most people today couldn’t survive. Yet through it all, Daniel never lost his love for God even though he lived in a nation that served false gods. He was mocked and targeted and yet, he was not ashamed to pray to God or to stand up for the truth of the God of Heaven. Daniel was born about 500 years after King David took the throne in Jerusalem. As we learned in the previous book, From Shepherd to King, David was a man after God’s own heart. He brought the nation of Israel together and all the people worshiped only God. But over the years, the people fell away from God, and by the time Daniel was born, the nation was deep into idol worship and immorality. God had warned them many times to turn back to Him, but they refused. So, His judgment upon them was about to happen. Daniel’s story begins when King Nebuchadnezzar attacked Judah and took the people captive. Many died, but those who survived became slaves. Jerusalem was destroyed completely, including all its buildings and the temple that King Solomon, David’s son, built for God. This was a time of great sorrow for the children of God, and it was a time when God rose up prophets to warn His children that His judgment would come if they didn’t turn back to Him. God gave visions to Daniel and revealed the future of the nation of Israel, and Daniel has shared those visions with us. This book touches on the highlights of Daniel’s life and tells of some specific events that helped to sustain the Jewish nation. The story is taken from the book of Daniel, all chapters from 1 to 12. The meaning of his visions are not explained in great depth because they are too detailed to put into a storybook, but it’s all in the Bible for you to study. And this author encourages you to read and study them because they will change the way you think about life. From Captive to Delegate will help you understand why Daniel was not ashamed to pray anywhere—and why you should never be ashamed to pray anywhere, either. As his story unfolds, you’ll be able to understand and relate to his feelings and his actions, and you’ll see why love can conquer all things. As with all the books in The Crown Series, Grandpa is reading the story to his grandson, and in this book, he has a lot of questions for Grandpa to answer that will help children, new believers and all ages to get a better understanding of this amazing Bible hero.

From Shepherd to King is the fourth book in The Crown Series, and it's all about David. Many of us know David as the teenager who slew the giant Goliath with a slingshot, and then went on to become the great King of Israel! But it’s his life in between these times when God deals with David that we begin to understand the man himself, and the beginning of the nation of Israel. And through David, we also learn the character of God and the value of having faith in Him. This book touches on the highlights of David’s life and tells of some specific events that helped to mold the Jewish nation. The story is taken from the book of 1 Samuel 8 and goes through to 2 Kings 2. You’ll be able to relate to David's feelings and his actions, and hopefully understand why you need faith in God, and how God will bring you through life’s trials when you know Him and trust Him, just as David did. The Crown Series is for readers of all ages who want to know God through the men and women of the Bible. It's based on Scripture and written in a storybook format so that it's easy and fun to read. It's great for children, new believers and anyone who wants to experience David’s challenges, joys, and sorrows, and learn why David was a man after God’s own heart! And just like the other books in this series, Grandpa is reading to his grandson who asks all the questions we'd want to ask.
