    What the heck is she doing here? The question jumped out of Bradley’s lips as he sprang to his feet.

    A white Ford Explorer SUV just backed into the parking lot in front of the shoe repair store.

    The four-wheel drive had a personalized number plate–Senior Babe 1.

    Outside, passers-by stopped to stare, pointing at the actress who just alighted from her four by four. Other car owners in the parking lot who were there to patronize the adjacent stores, took out their phones and clicked their cameras.

    Bradley squinted, only because he needed to be sure his eyes were not playing tricks on him on Wednesday afternoon. While he wondered what brought the big, curvy woman to the vicinity, the actress swanked toward the store after she smiled at the onlookers.

    One of Nollywood’s fringe actresses, regarded as Asaba’s senior babe strolled inside the store along Summit Road in Asaba City.

    The suffocating January heat outside followed the woman inside the store. With the air-conditioner malfunctioning often, the ceiling fan provided some relief. Yet, beads of sweat popped up around his neck.

    Hi ma’am, Bradley hailed, shuffling out of the small booth that served as the behind-the-scene counter.

    From where he stood, he could perceive her senses-seducing scent, so he inhaled slowly, curling his fingers past the gold chain around his neck.

    Hello, I’m Amara, she responded without a show of her teeth.

    Her tone, soft and smooth as butter along with her voice–confident and direct–made him want to sing a special song. Of course, the song was not for her.

    He straightened his blue and red African print short-sleeve top over his faded blue jeans. As a visitor to the city in Delta State and to Nigeria as a whole, he had never met the actress many men in Asaba were curious about.

    According to his friend, Chuma, no one really knew anything about Amara’s personality except what the gossip magazines printed.

    Though she was resident in Asaba as he was told, she was out of town a lot, filming Nigerian movies and doing other things. Based on her net worth, the number of properties she owned in major Nigerian cities and the flashy cars she drove around town, the tabloids were rife with speculations about her other sources of income. Truth be told, his friend owned copies of some of the magazines.

    After Bradley quelled the rising curiosity in his gut, he asked a sensible question. How can I help you?

    The toffee-skinned, curvy actress–dressed in a knee-length brown leather skirt and yellow snug top–had a pair of black-out sunglasses slung in front of her curly dark hair that stopped at her nape.

    Instantly, he imagined his fingers threading in between the cute curls. He wondered whether her hair was soft or not. Funny, he had never been with a woman like Amara, so he had no idea. Over-large, loop gold earrings complemented her full, oval-shaped face. His eyes dashed to her nude high-heeled shoes that shouted, designer. There was no way she needed the shoe repair service the store offered. Then what was she doing popping in? Intrigued to find out why she was there, he lifted his eyes to her face.

    The medium-height woman blinked and then shrugged. I don’t intend to be rude. But I assumed a shoe repair shop in Asaba City would be run by a–
