Description

Eating healthy is a major factor when it comes to health, energy, and body composition. Unfortunately for most, there is so much dietary advice in the health space that they end up confused, and trying one fad diet after the other. But is it really so difficult to eat healthy? What does the science say about how to eat right for a brilliant health.   In this podcast, I speak with Dr. Mike Israetel. Mike is the chief sport scientist at Renaissance Periodization, has taught at Temple University, he has a PhD in sport physiology, and is a former consultant on sports nutrition to the US Olympic training team, and he's the author of the book “Understanding Healthy Eating”. Mike has a vast knowledge about nutrition and the best way to eat right for health and well being.   In this podcast, we’ll cover The best diet for health and disease prevention (is there one?) The role carbs and insulin play in health The number one factor that determines your health (accounting for 60% of the variants in health of individuals) The main (and often overlooked) factor as to why people have accumulated more body fat How highly processed (junk) foods affect your body Is it possible to be obese and healthy? How nutrient timing matters What role do macronutrient ratios play in health?  The amount of fats, carbs and protein? The reason why some people can live a relatively unhealthy lifestyle and not be affected by it How important are supplements for improving health outcomes? What does the research say about gluten, grains, red meat, egg yolks, and "magic" foods? What science says about the ketogenic diet
