Reviews for Russian For Dummies

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing book! Very useful. I think i am better at my russian now!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5All of the vocabulary is in the Latin alphabet. I already know some Russian and was hoping for some additional grammatical insights. Trying to read words transliterated into Latin letters is actually more confusing. If you want to learn Russian you will need to learn it in its proper alphabet. The whole idea behind cyrillic in the first place was to express the sounds of Old Church Slavonic, sounds that do not exist in English and cannot be properly replicated by Latin letters. If you attempt to speak Russian as indicated by Russian for dummies you will most certainly be viewed as a dummy.
