Raw materials and end products

1.

Raw Materials: carbon dioxide, water Conditions: Suitable temperature, adequate sunlight End Products: PGAL and ATP which can be used to form glucose and any other carbohydrate needed for the plant, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids. 2. Boil leaf briefly, decolorize in denatured alcohol or acetone, saturate the leaf with Lugol's solution (iodine solution). If the leaf turns black, starch is present. If leaf retains the color of the iodine solution, starch is absent

Definition of chloroplast :
The organelle that carries out photosynthesis and starch grain formation. A chlorophyllcontaining organelle in plants that is the site of photosynthesis. Stacks of thylakloids form grana (look like stacks of coins) and the surrounding liquid is called stroma.

Definition of glycolysis :
This process occurs in all organisms, and is responsible for converting glucose to pyruvate and generating ATP in the process. Glycolysis does not require oxygen to function.

The raw materials and end product of dark and light reaction
light reaction: -sunlight -NADP+ -ADP -phosphate -water dark reaction: -enzymes like Rubisco, phosphoglycerate kinase, Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate, Triose phosphate isomerase, Aldolase and Fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase etc -Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP) a 5 carbon suger which must be recycled -CO2 -materials made in light reactions like NADPH and ATP And of course chloroplas
