ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Parents tend to be less involved in the educational process as their children get older. A study of the U.S. Department of Education found that nationwide, as children grow older, contacts between families and schools decline both in number and in the positive nature of such contacts.

OBJECTIVE: The researchers aimed to determine the relationship of parental involvement and parenting styles to the academic performance of Level IV nursing students of Far Eastern University.

METHODS: The study used descriptive-correlation design in examining the relationship of the variables. WEIRD PALAGAY NALANG DITO YUNG SAMPLING TECHNIQUE.FROM LETTER TO COORDINATOR HANGGANG ACTUAL IMPLEMENTATION. 210 Level IV Nursing Students were chosen through the use of simple random sampling technique

RESULTS: Majority of the level IV nursing students have good academic performance. There is a very satisfactory involvement in terms of the overall level of parental involvement of students. Regarding the parenting

style mostly received by the nursing students, authoritative parenting style very high positive academic performance and performance. is what they mostly received. There is a significant relationship between parental involvement and also the parenting styles to the academic

CONCLUSIONS: Based on the findings of the study, Increasing parental involvement and modifying parental styles into authoritative are therefore proven to increase academic performance.
