An Analysis of Tilapias Survival and Seed Growth A tilapia exists in the fresh water, brackish water, and sea water with salinity 0 to 35 ppt. A tilapia which lives in the fresh water, has a Latin name Oreochromis Niloticus, can be migrated with a gradual adaptation process by increasing the salinity in stages. Furthermore, in order to make aquaculture production of tilipia increased people need to learn about an optimal preservation media for the survival and the seed growth of that kind of fish. The study aims to analyze the influence of salinity toward the survival and the seed growth of Larasati tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) as well as to know the best salinity in the preservation media of Larasati tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) F5. The study is from April to June 2012, and be placed in Satker PBIAT JantiKlaten, Central Java. The writer uses Larasati tilapia F5 seed sized 3 to 5 to be tested. The method implemented in the study is Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments with 3 times repeat for each fish. The salinity differences of the media preservation in A, B, C, D, and E are 0, 15, 20, 25, and 30 ppt for each. The fish seed is preserved in a preservation vessel. Its water volume is 20 liter and the density is 20 fish for each vessel during 40 days. The feeding is by at satiation in 08.00, 12.00, and 16.00 WIB. The result of the study shows that the salinity media 0 to 20 is suitable for the survival and the seed growth of Larasati tilapia F5. In addition, the water quality during the study is proper for the fishs existance. According to the studys result it can be concluded that the salinity media gives a real different influence (P<0,05) toward the survival while it has differ very real (P<0,01) toward the growth of absoulte biomass, specific growth rate, as well as the ratio of Larasati tilapia F5 feed conversion.
