Senior Project Advisory Puckett High School P.O. Box 40 Puckett, MS 39151 Dear Members of the Senior Project Review Panel: I left the 11th grade thinking about the field I wanted to shadow for my Senior Project. Knowing I wanted to one day work as a registered nurse, I chose Debra Develin CFNP of Puckett Medical Clinic as my mentor. Going through my high school years, I raised my nephew, and he became my inspiration to choose to work in the nursing field. He opened my eyes to see that I wanted to spend my life helping others when they are sick or hurt. While shadowing Debra Develin, I learned how to properly take blood, take blood pressure, and the common tools used every day as a nurse. I spent three days with Ms. Develin, and in that time she gave me the advice and knowledge I needed to ensure myself that becoming a nurse remains my dream. During my hours shadowing, I learned of three problems nurses face throughout the work force. I plan to explain how patients with insurance problems, staff shortages, and bedside manner become a problem for nurses. Although I completed my shadowing for Senior Project over the summer, I had more work to do to completely finish my Senior Project. For my community service hours, I volunteered working the concession stand at a basketball game for 10 hours during the summer. Once I completed my hours at the game, I still had 5 hours to finish to complete all of my community service. Giving my options some thought, I finally chose to complete my hours by hosting a fundraiser for Blair E. Batson Childrens Hospital. I plan to receive coin canisters to place at my high school and the local gas station for the community to donate any amount possible. I feel that completing this community service project will make a difference helping the children in the hospital. Senior Project teaches students how to better prepare themselves for the work force. We learn how to act in a professional manner rather than what we think is professional. While Senior Project gets us ready for the work force, it also teaches us that we have to be fair to our colleagues. While writing my research paper, I know that using plagiarism will damage my grade, or I will fail altogether. The actions I take will make or break me during Senior Project. Sincerely,

Keri Mozingo
