Some Differences (Chia (1995))

Postmodernity
justifies organizations from a subjective view does not conceptualize reality as a discrete phenomenon views organization relation from the point of view of the organizing process. denies the primacy of static and stable situations in organizations. Observes from the process of change, structural manipulation, and ongoing collectivism.

Modernity
views it from an objective view deals with discrete identity, objectivity, and static entities like organization, employee, owner, capital, and culture from the homogenous and static perspective

Kilduff and Mehra (1997) from both skeptical and affirmative positions.
defined it as an integrated concept that
borrows speculations of modernism and includes uses techniques, insights, methods, and approaches

It has no boundary.

Alvarado (1996) views postmodernity a bit different way from two perspectives.
The first perspective
cancellation of modernity

the second perspective

looking at postmodernity as subsequent to modernity

Kroker and Cook(1986)

attempted to de-politicize postmodernism, viewing it simply as a cultural movement.

Postmodernism, as a social theory,

examines the social world from the multiple perspectives of class, race, gender, and affiliations with other identifying groups.
