Allowed Motor Vehicle Accessories


A. REPUBLIC ACT No. 4136

i. Tires of motor vehicles ii. Brakes iii. Horns (not exceptionally loud, startling, or disagreeable sound) iv. Headlights v. Taillights vi. Stop lights vii. Motorcycle and other vehicle lights viii. Lights when parked or disabled ix. Windshield wiper x. Use of red flag xi. Mufflers

II. Prohibited Motor Vehicle Accessories (except ambulance and police cars and fire

wagons used for emergency and official car of the President, Vice President, Senate President, House Speaker, Chief Justice) A. Exceptionally loud, startling or disagreeable sound i. Siren ii. Bell iii. Horn iv. Whistle B. domelights C. blinkers and other similar signalling or flashing devices

III.Violations and Penalties A. Presidential Decree 96


i. 1st off: confiscation,

ii. Subsequent offense: prosecuted for violation of this decree iii. upon conviction shall suffer the penalty of imprisonment for six months and/ or fine of 600 pesos and in addition, the certificate of registration of the motor vehicle on which the device or gadget is installed shall be cancelled or revoked subsequent offense

B. LTO Circular i. Fine of 15,000 and confiscation C. Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Regulation No. 03-005 i. Outright destruction of the prohibited device at the place of apprehension
