When an object exerts a force on another object, the second object exerts on the first a force of the same

magnitude but in the opposite motion

For every force (action), there is an equal and opposite force(reaction).

- The force exerted an object 1 by object 2 - The equal and opposite force exert on object 2 by object 1

It always applies to two different bodies. The forces are equal in opposite directions.

Sample Problem
Problem #1 While driving down the road, an unfortunate bug strikes the windshield of a bus. Quite obviously, this is a case of Newton's third law of motion. The bug hit the bus and the windshield hit the bus.

Sample Problem
Problem #2 A gun recoils when it is fired. The recoil is the result of action-reaction force pairs. As the gases from the gunpowder explosion expand, the gun pushes the bullet forwards and the bullet pushes the gun backwards.

Application
A swimmer push the water to the backward direction and water also pushes him to the forward direction. Birds fly they push the air with their wings and the air also push the bird in the opposite direction A man punched the wall and he felt pain on his fist.
