Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are bacteria that cause infectious disease and has been resistant to many antibiotics. Patikan kerbau (Euphorbia hirta L.) leaves is suspected to have antimicrobial effect because it contains tannin and flavonoid. The aim of this study is to prove that the water extract of patikan kerbau leaves had antimicrobial effect against MRSA. This study was experimental reseach and carried out in vitro by tube dillusion method then continued by streaking on Nutrient Agar Plate (NAP). The concentration of the microbe used was 106 CFU/ml while the water extract concentrations used were 10%, 12%, 14%, 16%, 18% dan 20% b/v which repeated 4 times and used different isolates. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) fot this research concentration found at the concentration 14% b/v and Minimum Bactericide Concentration (MBC) concentration found at the concentration 15% b/v. The statistic test showed significant difference between the changes of water extract concentration and the number of colonies (One-Way ANOVA p < 0,05) and there were close relationships between the changes of water extract concentration and the number of colonies (R = - 0,941). The conclusion of this research is the water extract of patikan kerbau leaves had antimicrobial effect against MRSA. Keywords: water extract of patikan kerbau leaves (E. hirta L.), MRSA, antimicrobial
