Reserve a Ticket to Japan and Beyond If youve never seen any Japanese movies or drama, then you dont

know what youre missing! Catering a chance to experience the art of Japanese film to the Thomasian community, Thomasian Nihon Kyoukai, the University-wide Japanese-culture Organization of the University of Santo Tomas, hosted an event entitled, Eiga Sai: Ticket to Japan!. The event is a film viewing introducing premier Japanese films. It was held last December 20, 2012 at the 4th floor Tan Yan Kee building Audio, Visual Room. Featuring movies in original Japanese audio with English subtitle provided by The Japan Foundation, Manila, the event higlighted the beauty and creativity the Japanese in the film and drama industry. The movies shown are as follows: Quartet starring Mayu Tsuruta and Shigeki Hosokawa, Wanko The story of me, my family and my dog starring Ryuta Sato, Kumiko Aso and Mitsuko Baisho, and finally Harus Glory starring Tatsuya Nakadai, and Eri Tokunaga, starting at 9am, 11am, and 1pm, respectively. Thomasian Nihon Kyoukai hoped to share the appreciation of the grandeur of Japanese films, and to create a learning experience for the organization members through the wonders of cinema. Upon the success of the event, they hope to create a similar experience like this soon for those who were unable to catch the event. So keep an ear out for news and updates from the organization, and attend this eye opening affair. And just maybe, you can share in their love for the Japanese motion pictures.
